Someone once asked me this "Why don't they just put baseball in the winter olympics?"
I slapped them.

There's still Womens Basketball, in which the United States is always dominant. The USA Women will win another Gold Medal in 2012.
Who is the Bsketball player in this Adidas London Olympics Commercial?

Rugby is more entertaining to watch than Baseball IMO plus aren't drugs pretty rife in Baseball?
I could see why the IOC wouldn't want to promote the sport if it turns out the teams that are being fielded are full of guys on roids.
American football in part is based on Rugby so figured Americans might find it appealing. The main difference being passing the ball backwards and tackling properly so you don't kill people as they don't wear pads
Basketball is played in the US and Canada mainly? That's not even close to correct. China, most of Europe, Turkey, Israel, and Australia have huge basketball programs. Have they looked at an NBA roster lately?
It's far more popular internationally than baseball. Hell I'd bet it's like 3rd or 4th overall in the world right around the level of field hockey, which I just learned the other day that men play in foreign countries?
It is clear that you have no idea just how popular Rugby is...Is it? Obviously I am aware that they can play in soccer stadiums. But I thought the sport was only played in Europe, New Zealand, South Africa, Australia, and a few of those small countries/islands in that surrounding area. East Asia doesn't play it. Majority of Africa doesn't play it. Correct me if I am wrong, but I didn't think it was that popular. Certainly not on par with the major two sports.
Do all you Americans have you heads buried in the sand?Basketball is played in the US and Canada mainly? That's not even close to correct. China, most of Europe, Turkey, Israel, and Australia have huge basketball programs. Have they looked at an NBA roster lately?

I agree with this, Basketball is quite popular and it has quite a decent league in the UK, the same with Ice Hockey...This is why I questioned the list myself, basketball is possibly the most popular American sport around the world. In fact it may be the only American sport more popular internationally than it is here in the states.
