The true ten strongest characters in base strength would not have the Hulk, Thor, Thing, or Juggernault listed. These 5 are characters that are not considered Cosmic Entities with unlimited physical strength.

5 STRONGEST:

1. Kurse - more than twice as strong as Thor (Class 225+)

2. Maestro - (Class 200)

3. The Green Scar Hulk - insanely enraged and radiated (300+)

4. Thanos - Cosmically powered mutant enhanced by Lady Death (250+)

5. Onslaught - Godlike hybrid of Prof. X and Magneto (Class 250+)

HONORABLE MENTION:

1. Apocalypse

OMEGA CLASS: (Class 400+)

1. Ymir

2. Surtur

3. Galactus

Jean gray isn't a honorable mention? I thought she was always talked about being strong.

Silver Surfer and the Sentry are in the top echelon as well.

Silver Surfer and the Sentry are in the top echelon as well.

The Sentry is deceased, but if he were alive he would be honorable mention.

The Silver Surfer is Class 100, but he is not an upper tier Class 100 like Thor.

I did not include people like Magneto because even though he can move far more than 100 tons with his power, it is not physical strength he is using, but mutant energy/power.

Count Nefaria is also honorable mention.

The strongest people in Marvel are often overlooked because people focus primarily on the most popular superheroes when they think of strength.

The Phoenix Force? Jean Grey has telekinetic and mental powers, but she is only of average human female strength. Even the She-Hulk under normal conditions is only about Class70-80. To my knowledge, she is the strongest Marvel female the same way that Wonder Woman is the strongest DC female.

What about Warrior's Madness Thor who's 10x stronger than regular Thor who's already in the upper tier class 10o.

To Me, Thanos is way up there. I mean, his strength is over looked. I think he is stronger than ordinary Hulk. We've seen Hulk usually get beat by surfer. However Thanos basically killed Surfer in 9 punches. Something we have yet to see Hulk do.

To be flat out honest with you, I can't think of anyone who could really go toe to toe with Thanos off the top of my head, without powerups, yes, I think Thanos would take WWH in a brawl. Simply because he is a more skilled fighter and his durability is insane. His crazy mind aside, I think he's got to be one of the most durable, and strongest characters there is, physical attribute wise.

Captain Universe.

:ff: :ff: :ff:

Again, not really the biggest Hulk fan, but according to Marvel lore he is the potentially physically strongest in their universe and that does include virtually everyone. The beyonder once quoted that his strength was unlimited in potential. It is
restricted only by the Banner side. and yes he can outclass even cosmic being, though he isnt immoratal per se and would be defeated in another way since being physically strong doesnt mean being more powerful overall.
Again, this isnt a single interpretation... this is decades of comic interpretation as well as direct statements from marvel on multiple occassions.

The Hulk possesses the potential for limitless physical strength depending directly on his emotional state, particularly his anger.[39] This has been reflected in the repeated comment, "The madder Hulk gets, the stronger Hulk gets." Banner's father had been involved in various activities involving radiation, causing a genetic mutation that was passed on to his son. These genetic characteristics and the changes they spawned were dormant until activated by the radiation of the gamma bomb. When transforming into the Hulk, Bruce's DNA realigns in such a way as to make it act like a cosmic antenna absorbing kinetic energy directly from the multiverse. The ability to absorb energy from this unlimited source provides the Hulk with his increased bulk and apparently limitless strength. After probing, the entity Beyonder once claimed that the Hulk's potential strength had "no finite element inside."[40] His durability, regeneration, and endurance also increase in proportion to his temper.[41] Greg Pak described the Hulk shown during World War Hulk as having a level of physical power where "Hulk was stronger than any mortal—and most immortals—who ever walked the Earth."[42

Full on Void powered Sentry has to be on that list. He's the freaking angel of death, he ripped Aries apart like he was tissue paper, and he's virtually indestructible, not to mention bat **** crazy.

It does matter though. One, Greg Pak also said that WWH would beat Rune King Thor. Which is the ULTIMATE

The guy is a hulk fan boy, to me atleast.

Also, just because hulk has unlimited potential, does that mean he is the strongest one in the universe? No. When I was a sprinter in high school, I was the fastest kid, with years of training. However, this new kid Jamal showed up, no training, and was just a tad bit slower than me. He had A LOT of potential. A LOT. He had potential to be faster than me, to be the fastest kid in the school. But because he had the potential to be the fastest,, potential that I didn't have, was he the fastest? No. I was faster.

Anger is limited. Hulk's strength is potentially limitless, but as far as I am concerned, anger plateaus. He is as strong as we have seen. As strong as WWH is, THATS how strong Hulk is. The fact that Hulk has potential to be stronger than anyone in the universe is irrelevant, until we see that happen, where he literally is infinitely strong, where he can defeat beings like odin with brute strength, then okay. But until then, he is as strong as we have seen him. Period. Which is WWH. Which is still insanely strong. But I still believe there are characters, Thanos the first that comes to mind, who are stronger than that, and therefor stronger than Hulk. Potential means nothing to me, not unless that potential is reached.

Yes, but what is the Void's base strength? Is it Class 150 or Class 75? If you have to be amped up or angered or draw extra cosmic energy to get to that level of power, it is not your strength level every moment of everyday. That is the problem people speak about Superman encounter. They ask what version are we talking about because different versions apparently have different levels of power. Kurse is more than twice as strong as Thor everyday, so is Thanos, and the others listed.

What is Apocalypse's class? And why didn't you order the top 5 from strongest to weakest?

What is Apocalypse's class? And why didn't you order the top 5 from strongest to weakest?

Apocalypse is Class 100, but he also has the ability to increase his base strength significantly.

Ordering them from strongest pose some challenges due to the exact level of their strength being mostly unknown. To order them, some guesswork must be used in addition to evaluating them based on Marvel's Handbook, comic book feats, and statements by Marvel's leadership.

STRONGEST TO WEAKEST:

1.Green Scar - likely the strongest based on statements by Marvel executives his physical power at that time was greater than any mortal's and most immortals who ever walked the earth. That must have included all other versions of himself during previous periods of extreme anger including when the Hulk defeated Onslaught. Additionally, this version of the Hulk did not fight the powerful Sentry with all the physical power available to him. This version was the lottery winner of power due to his incredible anger at the death of his wife, the unity between the Hulk and Banner personalities, and further strenthening by absorbing the radiation from the explosion.

2. Onslaught - "limitless physical strength." Onslaught was almost as strong as another monstrously strong version of the Hulk. This Hulk version was not quite as strong as the Green Scar, but was capable of delivering a blow equivalent to a nuclear strike. It's conceivable Onslaught was stronger than any others on this list except the Green Scar Hulk version.

3. Kurse - is far stronger than Thor, who is a high Class 100 character. Thor strength falls between Class 120 to Class 150. Kurse therefore was at least Class 240 before the Beyonder strengthened him further according to the Handbook. He is likely at least now Class 290, but could be Class 400. I estimate Thanos falls on the lower spectrum of this range.

4. Thanos - Thanos was a high Class 100 character prior to his death based on his ability to fight the Hulk, Thing, and Thor simultaneously, and gain the upper hand using his physical strength alone. After his ressurection, Death further enhanced his abilities especially his durability, so he was able to withstand his bout with Odin. Marvel almost always tie durability with strength in proportional terms. Thanos's fight with Omegapowerful Tyrant further proved his physical strength was significantly higher than most previous estimates.

5. Maestro - Twice as strong as the Professor Hulk who has a base strength of 100 tons.

Just a thought: The Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe is a TERRIBLE reference guide when trying to tack down a Marvel characters strength level, particularly the so-called class 100 hundred characters. For a visual: 100 tons is the same as four (4) fully loaded 45 foot tractor trailer trucks (minus the truck doing the pulling) all stacked on top of one another. Not a lot when you consider how much some of these characters have been shown lifting. I have several scans of both Thor and Hercules that are powerful indicators of their true level of strength, but suffice to say for now that both Thor and Hercules are capable of lifting planet earth. They are planet movers. This obviously would make characters like Hulk, Beta Ray Bill, Gladiator and the Silver Surfer planet movers as well, since these characters have all fought one either Thor or Hercules (or both) at one point in time or another and have been able to go toe to toe fairly successfully with them too. Character placed in the class 100 level are characters that can lift right at 100 tons OR MORE. I have noted discrepancies in two hand books: one lists Thor as able to lift 95 tons, while another puts him in the 100 ton class. Obviously, 95 tons is nowhere near being able to lift planet earth, or lifting the Midgard Serpent or ripping through adamantium cables, etc...take what the OHOTMU has to say with several grains of salt.

Here are my list of the five strongest Marvel superheroes, in no particular order:

1) Gladiator
2) The Silver Surfer
3) Thor
4) Hulk
5) Hercules

Here is my list of the five strongest Marvel villains, in no particular order:
