Here is a link to a film me and my buddies made over the Summer. It is called, THE ADVENTURES OF LIGHTNING LAD. It is a parody of the superhero genre. It is not affiliated with the Lightning Lad from the Legion Of Superheroes. I wrote, directed, and starred in it. The trailer is now on YouTube, tell me what you think! Questions?

It's all right. The story could use a lot of work cuz at the moment it seems to me like a Spiderman(1st movie) rip-off, no offense. The acting could be better; lots better if you're serious about movie-making. Other than that it's pretty good.

First of all, thanks for commenting so quickly and being so honest. I appreciate that. But what do you know of the story? It is parodying ALL superhero films, the plot is purposefully generic. The plot in the first Spider-man film was awful because it was so generic. This directly makes fun of that.
As for the acting, from the bits you actually get to see in the trailer, to me, it seems fine. Can you tell me where you think the acting is bad?

Also as far as acting goes, alot of it is supposed to be corny, like the Adam West show. Can't you tell it is all supposed to be a joke?
If I seem defensive that is because your judgements lack support.

Okay, it's a parody of the generic story; I guess I'm just sick of the generic story.
It's not that the acting is bad, it just seems one dimensional, like the people are just reciting lines and walking through their blocking instead of actually acting the lines and making the fights look believable(unless you're going for a camp effect here). The girl was actually good in my opinion but I just felt the lines of "Haven't seen you around lately." are stale because it is so generic. And the hero didn't seem into it except for the part where he mentions Spiderman near the end. I did like how he delivered "No, these things happen." The blowing up effect was pretty cool.

Thanks, yeah, really, the acting and the dialouge are all supposed to be corny. That's the whole point. Have you ever seen the Adam West Batman show/movie? This makes fun of the generic story and characters.

I liked it, and I highly encourage you to continue. I will say that there are points where it looks like a Parody and that works, but there are points where it looks like it is trying to be more serious as well. Its during those moments where you are open to misinterpretation of what your apparent goal is. Hence some people will see it as Majik did. From a technical standpoint, there are some dark scenes in the middle that were not easy at all to see, and some of the voices were very hard to hear.

Yeah I agree. Maybe the music was too loud. And yeah, that one shot is too dark.
The trailer was ment to be pretty epic so some moments weren't corny, it is more apparent in the actual film that it is a comedy.
The whole movie is done now though. It is great.
