They need to actually fill the game with interesting side missions and bring the combat system back from Web of Shadows. Give the city more ambience and life, and flesh out the stealth/action aspects, make the stealth feel much less awkward. I don't have high hopes though, Beenox has been a pretty mediocre development crew thus far.

What do you think chances are of showing the trailer I mean this would be the perfect week to do it, I kinda feel they'd be mssing a good opportunity

Agree 100%. I really wish Beenox would step up their game.

VGX is halfway over, don't know whether they'll air a trailer. I hope (and I keep watching until it's done) but I doubt it. I'm sure Beenox would've teased a trailer by now to make sure we are watching VGX.

Yeah but if not....it's cool. My hopes aren't that high. I have shattered and amazing and while I liked elements of both games(shattered more), they just werent that exciting to play after beating them. It all comes down to the gameplay....I don't know if Beenox is capable. They claimed Asm would have a better swing system and it ended up having cloud swinging and the city was so boring.

I do hope they slip in a trailer. Otherwise I want my 3 hours of wasted time back because this show was underwhelming so far. Joel is a goddamn joke.

True.....There was nothing that I'm interested in shown yet.

It's over. No trailer it seems. Well this sucked hard.

I just hope they release the trailer some time this week or atleast before christmas...
Only thing I'm remotely happy about is that it's scheduled to be released before the movie hits (which is 04/17/2014)... atleast we wont have to wait until the end of june.

Even though it is a stretch, I hope they would take a few notes from Grand Theft Auto on how to make a city come alive. What I love about the game is that there never is a shortage of things to do and the real times occurrences (randomized car chases, fights, arguments, or hell, the radio stations, which have some nice talk shows/newscasts that expand the story.) 'course, the studio's operating with a fraction of V's budget and a rushed production window, so I am not going to have such expectations, haha. Still, the empty city syndrome (which also plagued Arkham City) is not fun.

Well they have the city from TASM1 they can expand upon (I think it was even confirmed that they will return to that city). They could easily add more detail to it + change up a few things and/or expand the city with more locations in 2 years (assuming they started working on it once TASM1 shipped since we hardly saw any updates/content for it afterwards, only one DLC containting the lizard challenge. The other 3 DLCs were pre-order bonus stuff).

I don't think the empty city syndrome plagued Arkham City. I thought the number of inmates we saw was realistic given the situation and size of the map. I do think the syndrome plagued Arkham Origins though.

Well that sucked...

The upcoming trailer better blows us away... they could've atleast told us that they wont be showing anything @ VGX. I wouldn't have bothered with watching the whole damn thing then.

Be prepared to not be impressed though. Asm got me at first and then it came out.

I'm really not excited for the game mostly because its being made by Beenox again. Why isn't a better developer behind this?

True. I mean I like Beenox's passion and I think they did some really cool things with the Shattered Dimensions concept but other than that their other games have been subpar. Or they had some good elements in them but some of the flaws of the game outweighed the good things. Like for Asm I liked some of what they did with the combat but the webswinging was so automated that it made me not want to swing around in the city. I ended up Web Rushing which was kinda cool at first but it lacked variety and had some weird design choices like web rushing into the air.

I think they MIGHT get it finally with this game but I'm really unsure that they have what it takes to give us a definitive spiderman experience. I wish Sucker Punch could do a Spiderman game but I would like to see what Beenox is going to do first. I feel like they have potential but they need more fine tuning. Which really doesn't make alot of sense because they have the previous spiderman games as reference to see what works or could be updated for this generation. I don't understand how they could have messed up the swing system that badly in Asm when they knew that CLOUD swinging was not wanted by the fans. I don't get it...

Pinkypants was right
Glad I followed his instinct and didn't try watching the VGX in hope of watching a trailer to this game

It's not really a Beenox issue, imo. Are there better developers out there? Most certainly, yes. I would love to see a Sucker Punch Spidey game. But really the whole issue with Spider-man games and the reason why he won't have a true AAA title is because of Activision. Also, because this is yet again another movie tie-in but mostly because of Activision. Even under these conditions I still want to see the best possible game but my hopes and expectations are really, really low. ASM had some bright spots but overall it was a letdown especially in the one area I was hoping it wouldn't be; the free roam. After not having a free roam Spidey game for something like 4 years and then this is what we get...:csad:

I don't know why they can't go back to what they did with Spider-Man 2: The Game and Ultimate Spider-Man and add onto it. Personally, I think they should try their best to make games based on comic books instead of the movies, but I guess making a movie tie-in is better for marketing.

Making a comic based game is the first step to bringing about a truly great Spider-man game.

A comic-based game leaves you with more room for creativity.
