Pretty sad that that's all we got and the game is coming out in a few months.

I believe they said that suit pic is from the next gen version of the game.

They also said that any content being released is pure in-game graphics (no bullshots or CGI trailers etc.). They made a pretty big deal out of it kind of bashing the Arkham series.

Man I wish they didn't say a trailer was coming, such a friggin tease. I've been checking their twiter constantly for 14 days now ever since they wrote " it's coming soon, we've seen the first cut, stay tuned", yeah sure.

I'm usually not like this, the only reason I'm active on this forum is because of this game, I just really like spidey free roam games and I can't wait to see it already.

But you can't leave it alone. That's exactly what Beenox wants so they can release the trailer and you miss out on watching it right away.

The children of Beenox have already been kidnapped. They're being held by executives of Activision until they complete their work on the game and then it has to make a certain amount of money. But even then they only are granted visitation rights.

Well one would expect that it's pretty much around the corner if they announced it 2 weeks ago ("trailer coming soon, we saw the first cut") and then 5 days ago ("trailer is coming very soon, it's in the hands of PR and we saw the first cut").

That's pretty much why I was expecting it sometime now.

Who the hell says "it's coming, stay tuned" and expects you to stay "tuned" for a month or two lol.

Does anyone actually want a movie game? I think I would much rather have a GOOD Spider-man game that follows the comics or at least captures a comic-book vibe. I'm just not usually a fan of movie games.

I "only" like movie games because it's a given that they try to give a realistic/grounded approach. I don't like comicbook graphics (WoS etc.) and I'm usually more of a movie guy anyways.

I wouldn't have anything against an Arkham style Spider-Man game series that has realistic graphics/gameplay though. Unfortunately TASM is most likely the closest thing to to the Arkham franchise we'll get.

You keep posting this as though it's something new. I'll say it again, every game by Beenox has featured the same blah blah marketing tactics. They are incredibly vague and barely show anything until weeks before the release. Though I don't blame them, it's more Activision's fault since they're in control of releasing this stuff.

Eh, I still care but only because it's Spider-man. I always care when it comes to him. But my hopes and faith in this game are extremely low. I'm not expecting much.

I think very few people would prefer a movie game over a more comic book game. However, this game will kinda be a more comic book game. They said the TASM 2 film itself won't be canon to the game, which means they have more freedom this time than the average movie game.

I think the whole "Spider-Man needs an Arkham-style treatment" statement needs to be re-evaluated now that Arkham Origins is out. The general consensus for the game was that, despite it still being a great game and "Arkham worthy", it was the weakest of the three due to it lacking the magic and charm of the Rocksteady games.

It essentially has the same problem the Spider-Man games do - an empty lifeless city with very little interesting things to explore. The game doesn't have this problem to the same large extent as the Spider-Man games, but it is a problem nonetheless. On the other hand, the first two games stuck to the "less is more" approach and payed a lot of very close attention to detail. That level of attention to detail is what got the first two games critically acclaimed and that is also what will give Spider-Man the same "magic" feeling.

However, Beenox has two major obstacles to obtaining that level of ATD (attention to detail) that Rocksteady never had:

1) Activision - When you're in the hands of a publisher notoriously known for giving their developers limited budgets + limited time + limited creative control, the same ATD would be quite hard to do.

2) Spider-Man - yes, Spider-Man himself is part of the problem. With Batman, you can get away with placing him in a claustrophobic environment or in just one section of the city. With Spider-Man, the "magic" is in going full city and in the freedom of the swinging, but going full city and still having the same level of ATD is very hard on current-gen (hence Arkham Origins). Yes, this game will be on next-gen consoles, but it is probably just an import as far as we know.

I personally don't consider Arkham Origins a part of the Arkham franchise. Not going to play it until it hits atleast 75% off @ base price of 19,99€ on Steam. I'm waiting for the 3rd installment done by Rocksteady (if they do one) instead.

I actually really liked Riegal I thought he did a good job. But I'm hoping we get Andrew Garfield in this one.

It would be cool to have a Spider-Man game based on the movie where you can play as multiple characters, including the villains.

Just imagine playing as Aleksei driving the truck and smashing through cars. Would be pretty neat. I think that since they don't have the time or money to make a very detailed sandbox environment, they should avoid using free roaming and focus on level based Spider-Man games.
