ASM2---Aerial-Shot-2.jpg

This screenshot is my favorite. I love the haze effect, the realistic draw distance and the pose that Spidey has assumed in this shot very much calls to the well known line of "does whatever a spider can"

Yeah, just ignore at what appears to be poor texture work on the buildings, likely bad AA and possibly unstable framerate. The lighting looks decent, but this doesn't really look like a "next-gen" game. The draw distance looks nice, but those buildings just look copy and pasted. People's standards in terms of open world graphics (post GTA V and InFamous) aren't going to be doing this game any favors that's for sure lol

No troll here, but from everything I have seen, ASM2 does not look next gen.

It sadly doesn't. There are quite a few reasons for that, though, and I think you're aware of them.

I wish all this game-doesn't-look-next-gen-talk would stop.

Yeah Arkham Knight is not even in the same ballpark as the ASM2 game.

That looks next gen. No troll here, but from everything I have seen, ASM2 does not look next gen.

Because ASM2 ISN'T supposed to be next-gen, and I cannot for the life of me figure out why people are holding it to that standard. it's a PS3/360/WiiU game that's getting upscaled a bit for next gen consoles.

The pathetic thing is that batman arkham knight doesn't come out in till October and the amazing spider man 2 comes out end of apirl and yet with arkham knight being like 6, 7 months form coming out and with the amazing spider man 2 being only a month away we have seen and heard way way more about arkham knight then amazing spider man 2. We have heard a lot about akham knight and almost nothing about amazing spider man 2.

I'm aware of that.

You guys have to understand I am not bringing this game down by any means. But if ASM2 is 59.99 on XONE and Arkham Knight is 59.99 on XONE, then there should not be excused. Lower the price or make a game that can put up a fight.

I will buy ASM2, but these boards are not a means of praise. You CAN post your own opinion. Just do it in a way that does not tick other people off such as

"Oh Batman is better then Spider-man thus Arkham Knight is better. Oh and it's made by rocksteady cause Beenox sucks".

That's just being in denial.

That is indeed correct.

Yeah, business sucks huh? Companies think that last gen games with a next gen label equals $10 more.

The marketing has been better. But that's expected for such an anticipated game that's triple A.

Lev is the new Anno hahaha!
Anyways I only have my laptop and a PS3 for games.. My laptop isn't considered a high end model so.. I basically only have a PS3 for gaming. Sigh.

me too! that actually sounds really awesome.

I wasn't really too excited bout this game till today. But those screens and play description sound like a big improvment over asm1.

Eh. Sounds good I guess but I was hoping to hear more about the gameplay itself. Such as using a combo of buttons to pull off the moves in combat or web swinging has physics/momentum or the various types of webbing that can be used in combat...etc.

I wants footage I wants it

I read this in Smeagol's voice. lol.

I dunno about that. I mean, wouldn't you expect the lesser known game to have more marketing so they can show what their game is about?

That was my intention >:)

Usually yes, but..Activision......doesn't want us to have nice things.

The guy that wrote the gameinformer article told me that the swinging does have more natural momentum and took a little skill since you are alternating the triggers. I really want to see gameplay for this though. I'm wondering if Spidey has more animations and that he can flip and jump around this time. He was too straight up last game.

That's great to hear! Did you email him?

Just what I wanted for webswinging! So we now have 3 out of 4 requirements:

1. Natural momentum
2. Challenging/skillful swinging
3. Sticks to buildings
4. Diverse animations

Mix this with an improved web rush and this is going to be so fun!

But first.....gameplay must be seen.

I know I'm getting too excited but these journalists have made me excited.

I would wait till you see gameplay and play it yourself first. These previews can be misleading...

I need to see in game footage before making a decision, and of course some reviews. But I want to like this.

I wonder if by distinct districts they mean places like Chinatown? Has Chinatown ever been in a Spider-man game?
You can see it detailed in Ultimate Spider-Man
There is a China Town in Spider-Man 3, but it looks nothing distinguishable

Lev, seriously stop posting Arkham Knight stuff. You get way off topic on these forums sometimes.
He speaks out of his broken heart

Chinatown was also in Spider-Man 2. :word:

Didn't explore the city enough in Spider-Man 2, but I believe you, and one New Yorker said it's the most accurate version of Manhattan in a game
