The Arrow's Tip: Official Thread

Yep, yep. If I had to choose one, I'd definitely choose the GA over a Supergirl spin-off anyday. We haven't seen much of the Green Arrow as far as it goes for him being in the media.

:D

Ollie's far more intriguing a character than Kara, but I think the main appeal of it is that they'll sidestep some of the angsty teen drama stuff that might be a regular feature of a show with a 19 year girl as the lead. It should have some action, some romance between him and Dinah perhaps, maybe some fractious visits from Lois from time to time to provide a bit of the love triangle thing if they want to..

It has far more potential than a show about a kryptonian teen girl whose back story isn't nearly as interesting as her cousin's, IMO. Nevermind that Laura isn't nearly as good an actor as Tom.

Justin Hartley is no Tom Welling, but he's very attractive and charming. I wouldn't mind seeing him every week and I think he has enough appeal to carry a show.

Laura Vandervoort? Not so much....

I don't think she's good enough to carry a series.

I think Craig's list of reasons was dead on. Especially regarding the overwhelmingly positive reception from the fans for Justin and the character. I haven't run into many people (if any) who haven't been pleased with Hartley's performances.

Now it's my turn to quote for truth!

:D

And to think, you can get Tom Welling/Clark Kent to guest appear.. :)

Please please please let this happen. I've been telling my friends CW should spin off GA ever since "Arrow" served as a de facto pilot last year! I ditto what everyone else has been saying. Especially the part about a GA show being way cooler than a Supergirl show (which would essentially be a redux of Smallville Season One, or worse yet, a season full of "Fierce" type episodes. Ugh).

Also want to reiterate that if CW wants more female lead characters, the rationale behind a SG show, than having Black Canary being the second lead should solve that straight away!

This seriously needs to get done!

Hey, what do you know?

Justin Hartley Signs a Holding Deal with the CW

Justin Hartley, who has made a big impression on fans with his portrayal of Oliver Queen/the Green Arrow on Smallville, has recently signed a holding deal with the CW network, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Hartley's association with the network goes beyond Smallville, having also played the role of Arthur Curry/Aquaman in the network's pilot for Mercy Reef.

Hartley has also recently appeared in another pilot for the CW in a new series titled Spellbound. It has also long been rumored that the network may create a spin-off from Smallville, possibly starring Hartley's Green Arrow.

Hartley can also be seen in the upcoming Warner Bros. film Spring Breakdown opposite Amy Poehler, Will Arnett, Parker Posey and Rachel Dratch.

aw shoot... I'm surfing in between calls, I didn't see that earlier.

:(

I thought I'd broken some news...

*sigh*

Although, I am loving my new confuser at work... it has three times the ram the old one did.

It loads up IE like crazy fast.

:D

ETA: I'm going to mention how much I love this idea of a spin-off in my review, btw. I LOVE Justin's Oliver and I loved him in Siren. He's good looking and sexy and I love how witty Ollie is.

Of course I don't love him anywhere close to as much as I love Clark, but Smallville's not going to be around after next season so I'll take what I can get...

If they actually make a Green Arrow show - I will take back all the insults I said about the CW.

Of course in the next week they will give me a whole new list of complaints - but we will be able to enjoy the harmony for a little while.

I'm sure that a GA show with Justin Hartley would be fantastic. I'd certainly tune in to the show every week.

Especially if they find some cute red haired kid to be jokingly called Speedy. :)

Green Arrow has a great mythology and rogue's gallery if you think about it. There's Drakon

Even that Onomatophea guy is interesting.

These people would simply KICK ASS in a live action show.

Let me second (or third or fourth) everyone else's opinion. Make this happen!

Ditto to the awesomeness of a Hartley-starring GA show. Another plus is that a GA show will hopefully derail that disastrously awful "Super Max" crap idea of a movie!

(Also, how awesome would a Clark as Superman February Sweeps guest spot be in the future? Very awesome.)

yeah i would love to see a Green Arrow spin off once Smallville's done. Would be good if no one knows were Clark is after he leaves even Green Arrow and some Justice League members ask him wehn they guest star or something and Arrow sort of implies he knows what Clark's up to.

Yeah, assuming SV ends with Clark going to the Fortress for training, and the GA spinoff takes place after the series finale, then it's likely Clark won't ever appear on the show. But it sure would be cool to at least mention him like that

Looks like we be getting a spin-off of our favorite Emerald Archer anytime soon, if not ever. :(

This was on K-Site a few days ago:

Justin Hartley & Michael Cassidy Land CW Pilots

Both Justin Hartley (Green Arrow) and Michael Cassidy (Grant Gabriel) will be doing pilots for potential series for next season on The CW.

Today it was announced that Justin is going to be part of a medical series called Austin Golden Hour. Yes, this means no Green Arrow. While we wish the best for Justin, it's really sad that the network didn't sign him for the series he really should be doing.

Meanwhile, Michael Cassidy is signed to play the role of a nanny's boyfriend on a show called How To Teach Filthy Rich Girls. How many shows about rich girls does the CW need? Anyway... congrats to both Michael and Justin on their new gigs.
