The artwork of 0neDisturbedSOB

You're the only person that says that about her cheeckbones. She has very prominent cheeckbones, and adding that "blush" area just doesn't look right. I agree it looks odd from an artist standpoint, but without them it doesn't really look like her at all.

I third the notion, I have seen her picture and it really doesn't resemble her at all, I just did not want to say anything. I think the asian one actually looked more like her.

ps... zombie:(

Sorry you guys feel that way. The asian one looked nothing like her because it was an oval shaped head with a point, and if you've seen her picture then you'd know that her face does anything but come to a point. I would post the picture again, but last time it started getting a bit "odd" so I took them down.

The picture isn't perfect, but most people that know her seem to think it's pretty spot on, and as long as she's happy with it, I'm not going to change it. Not to sound like a d*ck or anything, but I've known her for a pretty long time, and I know what she looks like from all angles. She has a VERY "curvy" facial structure, and caricatures are about exaggerating on facial features...hence the over exaggerated curves in her face.

When I ask for feedback, I am looking for both sides. I don't need everyone to tell me how good it looks if it doesn't look good. I have gone from having my artwork praised, to having it completely shot down...I'm a big boy and I can roll with the punches so the notion of "I didn't want to say anything" isn't really needed...trust me, you're not going to hurt my feelings.

Santa is coming, but she will be Mrs. Clause and I will be an elf

You thought about doing a Warriors one? Or how bout a Daredevil?

DD has crossed my mind. Warriors isn't something I've given thought too because if it's not done in the "Warriors style" then it sort of loses the meaning behind it.

Gotcha, but yeah DD would be good, or you could do Marv :D

Just finished this one...

A suggestion, make your jaw a little more square, you'll look a lot more like him, and then give yourself a couple of scars and bumps

Changing the facial structure would sort of defeat the purpose of the caricature. The whole point is to keep things relatively the same, with some changes here and there to make me look like different characters. If I change my jaw structure then I might as well just draw Marv....know what I mean?

Wait until you guys see my next one, it might be the best of the series.

cool marv, only thing i would change is the eye bandage, have it under the glasses, if it can be done

hey SoB, long time no see, sorry I haven't been replying to your stuff lately. Been around the world and in other forums these last couple months. I see that you've kept extremely busy. Nice portraits. Here's an idea, who about doing one in time periods? That would interesting or futuristic? Or hell put your head on a dog with superman's cape (Krypto...)..but keep it up, looks great.

ps, your gf looks fine, not weird

Thanks man, glad you like them. Actually the time period thing is a good idea. I watched this special on the History channel about Da Vinci this weekend, and the whole 1400's/renaissance look really caught me. I think I might start getting into actual people as well as continue with the characters/superheroes. I'd like to do Davinci, Shakespeare, Washington, Lincoln...etc.

Thanks for the comment about the GF, she likes the way it turned out so really that's all that matters right?

Looking forward to seeing more of your work!

You should do one as Mr. incredible or someone from that movie

Just as an update, my personal site www.averagejoeart.com is getting ready to launch around the first of the year. A friend of mine has been working on it, and so far it's gearing up to be something I'm really proud of. The site itself will feature some flash menus, an interactive blog for me to update with news, and of course a TON of artwork that I've posted here, and some I've never shown to ANYONE.

I wish I could post some images, but I'd like some stuff to be kept secret until the actual launch date...maybe I'll post some teaser images soon.

Yeah I'll post a link as soon as it's done. One of the main reasons for me doing so many of these caricatures is to have a whole section of content for my site. Right now it's filled with a lot of sketches, graphics and other random stuff, but it doesn't have as much as I'd like it to. I know I'll continue to add stuff to it on a pretty regular basis, but it doesn't hurt to get a head start you know?

Trust me, you guys will be among the first to know when it launches. It's coming....soon. Right now I'm working on my Christmas card so I'll be sure to post the sketches/finished artwork as soon as it's done. I'm REALLY trying to have it done by this weekend (printed and all) so I can start sending them out, so hopefully I'll have some sketches up by Sunday/Monday....it's going to be good, at least I think so.
