ok so i know this isn't quite superhero fan art..but its some vector art i have done recently. figured i would share it with some fellow artists. i just learned illustrator a couple months ago. any criticism is appreciated

I like how you made the tats brighter on this first one in comparisons to the reference pic.
Good work on these, I like them.

You should try some free style once you are comfortable with the program. Its a great way to challenge yourself.

i love vector art! ive had illustrator a long time but have never used it. I want to learn sooo bad.

Did you actual draw these? Or did you use the live trace feature?

i actually drew these. the live trace feature is good for cartoon stuff..but not on actual photos. it took me about 30 hours to finish the ADTR one..and 12 hours to finish the mike one. so yes, i do actually draw them. i use the actual picture as a template layer for reference.

illustrator is awesome! its not very hard to learn either. i would totally try it!

yes, right now im getting the basics down. i think i have it. i use illustrator to do logos and stuff too. im going to start using it to create random designs and stuff too.

That's pretty good. Good to know you aren't doing just doing live trace, I've seen ones done like this that have used it.

You have a lot more patience than I do. While I could actually do this work I just find it way to time consuming. I like to get things done quick, which is why my work has gone towards a more cartoon style.

Started playing with the Gradient mesh lately though.
