I am more psyched about this than any other new show.

This season there are a lot of shows that want to be the next HEROES (shows with supernaturally-powered characters in real-world settings). Last season, everyone wanted to be the next LOST. I hope BIONIC WOMAN comes out on top of this bout.:woot:

You know, I was going to passed on Bionic Woman this fall initially until now. I think it is great casting Isaiah Washington on the show. Say what you will about him but I believed that a person deserved a second chance. He has served his time in rehab and redeemed himself by making a PSA for the GLAAD people. And still he was fired from Grey's (Scrubs rip-off) Anatomy.

I will now be watching the show. And $100 says that Isaiah's character is a Bionic Man. I smell a spin-off.

if"whasington will play the head of a government agency"i think that means he will be the shows version of OSI[OFFICE OF SCIENTIFIC INVESTIGATION]head oscar goldman

yeah! Katee is goint to be in it for sure

Katee Sackhoff Remains Bionic
Source: The Hollywood Reporter July 18, 2007

The Hollywood Reporter says that in a real-life thriller rivaling the twist and turns on NBC's "Bionic Woman," Katee Sackhoff has signed a last-minute deal to continue on the series as a recurring after almost getting close to walking out.

"Battlestar Galactica" star Sackhoff did a scene-stealing guest spot on the pilot for "Bionic" as bad bionic woman Sarah and nemesis to Jamie Sommers (Michelle Ryan).

David Eick, who executives produces "Battlestar" and "Bionic," is said to have been instrumental in bringing her on board the NBC/Universal Media Studios pilot, which was filmed in Vancouver, where Sackhoff was working on "Battlestar."

Sackhoff had been featured heavily on the network's promos for the series and touted as a recurring on "Bionic" but didn't have a deal to stay on beyond a couple of episodes, and she and Universal Media Studios were far apart on terms.

The deal closed late Tuesday.

i was wondering will bionic woman get its own forum when it debuts?

Why does that article make it sound like the pilot already aired? It hasn't, right?

i wonder will nbc affiliate sci-fi air anyepisodes of the ORIGINAL version of the bionic woman to lead up to the new series? this occurred to me a few minutes ago

Probably not. The new series is a reimagining of that show, so NBC probably thinks it'd just confuse people to air the original series beforehand.

I saw the premiere (through illegal means) and it kinda sucked. I was looking forward to the show, but it's no Heroes.

I finally got a chance to look at all the vids on this show....she does a fairly plausible job with the stunt fighting (she'll get better the more she does), but someone needs to teach her how to run....that looked kinda silly......I'll check it out, the cast surrounding her is pretty solid.

same here. it was pretty disappointing.

I rather liked it, actually, but maybe that's because I was comparing it to the female hero films that have come out recently... which may have elevated- I mean- Elektra, Catwoman, Aeon Flux, etc. Against those, this was great.

I never watched Alias though or other female hero shows, so I can't compare it with that. But against the recent films- definitely beats though, lol, but might be due to those not being good in the first place.

If I were to simply judge this show by the pilot I would say it's pretty awful. This show is basically Jane 2.0 but without the nerdy main character. There is nothing that even resembles the Bionic Woman tv show from the 70s. Gears and pistons in her arms and legs are replaced with absolutely ridiculous out of this world type nanobot technology.

One thing I've found now days is, you can't expect anything to be like it used to be, otherwise you'll hate it.

Just accept it for what it is, back in the 70's, gears in arms seemed out of this world, now days, people are actually coming closer to creating a replacment hand that works by attaching various things to nerve endings and such.

I'm among the few that disagrees that it was a bad episode.

Basically, we're introduced our the main female lead character who becomes targeted because she's in a relationship with a doctor, who's experimenting with nano-tech through the means of experimental military technology. In order to save his girlfriend, he scarifices his own knowledge and brings her into the world.

She reacts harshly but comes to slowly understand her abilities through the first Bionic Woman and her lover.

The two invariably fight and the people that helped create her, want her for their own interest.

The episode wasn't as disappointing as people make it sound to be. It's got a solid cast of characters, who are each having their own issues and problems, but at the same time are connected to this group. It has similarities to Jake 2.0 but then again this is the BIONIC WOMAN.

If you're expecting something more than what the title implies...maybe something along the lines of SMALLVILLE. You're going to be mistaken. The fist episode puts in the nuts and bolts of the series and sets up what appears to be the overall plot.

We're even given a cliffhanger in the pilot, which I think will lead to something even more interesting. If anything this show is the perfect lead-in or follow-up for HEROES.

My overall rating: 3 and half out of 4.

I'm really looking forward to this one in the Fall.
