What comic books do you think (or hope) they'll use as inspiration for this movie? Man of Steel used some aspects of the following comic books.
- Superman: Secret origin (2009-2010)
- Superman: Birthright (2003-2004)
- Superman: The Man of steel (1986)
- Superman: Earth one (2010) *added thanks to Superman Earth1

There might be some I missed.

You forgot to add Earth One to the list. There was more of that then anything else in the movie.

-Public Enemies
-The Dark Knight Returns

I'm thinking those should and will be the biggest influences.

On of the influences should be Superman/Batman by Jeph Loeb. A Great comic book series.

Public Enemies
Batman & Superman Movie
Lex Luthor
Dark Knight Returns
Kingdom Come
Maybe No Man's Land

The bolded part has already been confirmed as an influence.
i'm aware, that was the first piece of info released about the project. They announced TDKR as influence at the same time they announced the movie.

Also I agree with Levitikuz, that'd be good for influences.

Also for the characters:

Batman: Year One, Long Halloween, BTAS, and Scott's Snyder's run.

Superman: Birthright, Kingdom Come, What's So Funny About Truth, Justice, & The American Way, All Star, STAS.

Lex: All Star, DCAU, Lex Luthor.

Alfred: BTAS, Earth One.

Wonder Woman: Brian's current New 52 Wonder Woman run. Great run.

Not a huge Wonder Woman fan so I don't know what else.

I imagine that Matt Wagner's "Trinity" could be an influence.

Could be... i just reread that story and i thought it was pretty overrated though. Wagner's art is great but the story didn't blow me away. I liked how Ra's and Bizarro were portrayed a lot though.

- Batman: Hush
I hope that Ben Affleck's Batman shares the same methodic mindset. It would allow him to show us his investigation and detective skills.

Didn't Lex Luthor: Man of Steel feature Lex Luthor influencing Batman into fighting Superman? That sounds like a major place to take influence from.

I'm just about to read that comic.
