The Dark Knight THE DARK KNIGHT currently #1 at IMDB

Yeah, I spotted that earlier. Posted it in the Critic Review thread, as I always hate starting new threads - you always get the "OMGZ close/delete/ban IN BEFORE TEH LOCK LOLZ! idiots.

Very impressive, I must say. Just think about it:

1. The Godfather
2. The Shawshank Redemption
3. The Dark Knight

It entered at #4, but it knocked "The Godfather Part 2" of the #3 spot.

Of course, I don't expect it to last long. You get the big gang of film snobs/agenda-driven haters who deem all new films "unworthy" of high placings, so they all band together to blitz the film with 1 ratings - regardless of whether or not they've seen the film - until its ranking lowers.

Yeah -- it's in four-digit votes right now, while all the others are five- and six-digits.

I know it's not an objective yardstick, but it's still pretty impressive. And Memento is solid at #30.

Doesn't mean anything coming from that site.

Wall-E was as high as 5 or 6 when it came out.... give it a few months....

It won't last for long, but for now, let us celebrate this moment. "The Dark Knight", #1 on the iMDB Top 250.

Oh my God, it beat the ****ing Godfather?!?!

I'll say it while I can.......

The Dark Knight: Best. Film. Ever.

Behold, there is a new godfather in the house. For the first time since 1999 The Godfather is not on the top of IMDb top 250 (http://www.timo-schreiter.de/imdb/index.php?title=0068646). The Dark Knight is. I kind of like the irony of it all. The mob boss can not compete with the crime-fighter. Although it probably is just temporary (new films most often start of good then fall on the list) it is quite an accomplishment. And it is not just because of fan-boys cause the list filters out much (it's on 9.5 at the list, 9.7 total)

Sorry if there already is a thread about IMDb score, could not see one in these forums.

Edit: Bah, already was a thread. My bad.

my god. i mean, i know it'll drop down, they always do. but i've never seen a new movie that high before. amazing.

Has a movie ever broken all-time box office records AND hit number one on iMDB....on the same day?

That dude who had "BEST MOVIE EVER" in one of his DVD cover manips was right.

Its going to drop in the coming months but damn this movie is amazing so if it falls from the top 5 would be a shame but it will end around top 10 - 20 best movies of all time
