The DCEU slate, what is it? What should it be?

True. It's not like he hasn't been on screen and seen by the public since 2013. I just think at some point you lose momentum for a solo after about 7 years or so. I think his appearance in JL is the key. I think there needs to be some momentum coming out of it.

I get what you mean but DC is going to be the brand so I think they can probably afford to have a few characters out of the spotlight for a little while.

Why are people so confident that Gotham City Sirens is coming out next year? Arent they still writing the script?

The Gotham City Sirens script has been under work from May of last year. Mark Hughes wrote in his article they are targeting a 2018 release date for GSC.

I didn't know that, good to know they've had some time on it already.

Geneva Robertson-Dworet, a top female writer in the action sphere who also has penned scripts for the Tomb Raider remake and Warners' own Sherlock Holmes 3, is writing the screenplay.

I could very well be taking this too literally, but that line suggests that the script is still in the process of being written. And for this to make a summer 2018 release, it'll need to go into production within a couple of months. Is Ayer still working on Bright?

After saying I didn't really care what the slate was.. well I guess I do. I find it fun to put together and tweaking it as if it would go to my personal liking.
With 2017 WW and Justice league I'd follow with:
2018: Aquaman, Gotham City Sirens( I don't like this idea but it's likely happening), and Black Adam
2019- Batman, MOS 2, Flash
2020- WW2, Shazam, and Jl2
2021- Aquaman 2, Batman 2, green Lantern Corps
2022- Jl dark , flash 2, MOS3
2023-WW3, Batman3, and a final team up movie to end the franchise.
That's 23 movies if they even last that long. I can't imagine so many movies.

If MOS2 comes out in 2019 I will be ecstatic.

Judging by the Rock's tweet, the MOS sequel might get scrubbed in favor of a superman vs Black Adam movie. Then again I have nothing to back this up with but it is a nagging feeling that I can't shake.

There'll be a solo Superman sequel but I don't think til later. If Superman is a co star in the Black Adam and/or Shazam films in the mean time I will not complain.

I'd be thrilled with Superman v Black Adam if there was a story to tell. I know so little about the character's interactions with the good guys. I like going into a movie freah like that. ( Try to avoid trailers/ spoilers)

Best way

Oh there is plenty of story to tell there IMO, imagine if Superman and Adam's fight isn't about saving the world but rather saving Billy Batson's soul with Superman and Adam playing the angel and devil (respectively) on Batson's shoulders.
Superman's whole reason for not taking over and fixing the world but rather inspiring others to do so is due to his belief that humanity has it in it's self to be better and that belief could be put to the test when trying to sway a teenage Billy Batson to pick the side of the altruistic, straight arrow superman rather than the cool, dark anti-hero that is Black Adam. Not an easy thing to do considering that most teenagers would be inclined to pick the latter.

There's the movie right there. Shazam should come after and Billy should be introduced in the Black Adam movie, becoming Shazam at the end

Somebody watched Batman vs Robin.

Somebody watched Batman vs Robin.

Actually I haven't, because I didn't like Batman and son so I avoided the followup.
So I take it Batman vs Robin had a similar plot? Is the film any good?

Talon played out like your proposed Black Adam. Pretty good movie, crappy dialogue notwithstanding.

I c, maybe I'll check it out. I did see bad blood just because Grayson is one of my favorite characters but the film was godawful IMO.
In all honesty DC only made a handful of good DTV adaptations (DKR, Superman vs Elite, under the red hood, flashpoint and wonderwoman) but the rest were let downs sadly.

Here's my optimistic slate considering what they've announced is development so far, with my picks for directors and some titles.

2018
Aquaman: Secrets of Atlantis (October) – James Wan

2019
The Batman (April) – Matt Reeves
Shazam! (June) – Jordan Voigt Roberts (with Supes in a supporting role)
Gotham City Sirens (August) – David Ayer
The Reign of Black Adam (October) – Gareth Edwards

2020
Deadshot: The Secret Six (February) - F. Gary Gray
The Green Lantern Corps (June) – Christopher McQuarrie
A Dark Universe (August) – Doug Liman
Justice League: Legion of Doom (Fall) - Justin Lin (With Shazam and Black Adam)

2021
Flash: To the Future (April) – Lord & Miller

So just one movie in 2018 and four the next three years? I would try to get Gotham City Sirens into 2018 too. It can't be that hard of a movie to make and I think it would suffer more by trying to make
it into a blockbuster CGI extravaganza instead of a cute little film about three girls out on the town. Stunts and practical effects would be a much better option.

Yeah, maybe Sirens could make it for late 2018. Ayer still has to put out Bright this year, but he just finished filming it.

Batman could make it for late 2018 too if they hire someone soon, but if I were them, I'd get the right director. I'd wait till Reeves is available, and give him the time he needs to knock it out of the park.
