The Eggs Of Watchmen

It probably has already been mentionned but Veidt meeting with Jagger and Bowie in front of Studio 54.

^I wanted to hear that line so bad!

Not only were they in the same scene together, they shook hands.:hehe:

I'm sure when the DVD hits we are going to be able to see a ton of 'eggs' on Ozy's TV screens.

It was either Mad Max or The Road Warrior that was playing on one of Ozymandias' TV screens. Is that considered an easter egg?

:o

^^ The road warrior.
Also maybe not an easter egg but I got a strong Dr Strangelove feel from the Nixon scenes in the "War Room".

"Gentlemen, no fighting in the war room !":woot:

the outer limits was on the tube after dan and laurie are trying to live a normal life after everything went down, which was almost the end of the movie. - nice nod to the source material

On the TV when they're reporting Dr. Manhattan's disappearance, they freeze frame on his face, it's the exact same pose as Leonidas's THIS IS SPARTA! face.

If you look, the War Room is almost an exact replica of the Dr. Strangelove War Room. In fact, in the Production Book it says the team were trying to reproduce the Strangelove War Room, and they couldn't figure out how to make the maps on the walls look right. One of the gaffers told them it was a rear projection that was used on set in the original film. As it turned out, the gaffer had actually worked on Strangelove 40 years ago.

Cool, I didn't know that, but I knew that War Room looked familiar.
Thanks for the info:up:.

the same facial expression was shown in the novel, so i wouldnt say they ripped it off from 300

Don't remember the exact scene (think it was the alley fight with Dan and Laurie), but you can see a bunch of Ozymandias posters on a wall with him standing over a bunch of African children that read "FEED AFRICA" or something like that.

yea i notice that as well

So was Scott's infamous superbowl ad from the 80's :woot:

People usually open their mouths when they scream.

True, but it was the angle the picture was shot at, along with the fact that it is the same director, that leads me to believe it was intentional.

Also, the angle is NOT the same in the GN as it is in the movie. The movie angle is a tilt, with the camera being to the left and below from the Dr.'s perspective, while in the graphic novel the angle is right up in his face, like someone was crowding him. The stance he has in the movie along with the angle make me think it is an Easter Egg, and not a "rip off" of the 300. Kinda hard to rip yourself off, friend.

As Rorshach and Nite-Owl are entering Ozy's complex you can hear the commercial jingle to 'The Clapper' on the TV monitors.

At the very end when Laurie is talking to Dan and she mentions if everything is alright "down there", of course she's probably talking about the ship but taken a different way if would imply about Dan's impotence.

all the 300 references are making me sick..
