The "Format War": Over Before It Started?

blu-ray will win, no question.

millions of people are going to buy the ps3, regardless of whether or not it has a blu-ray player. they'll buy it so they can have a ps3, and the blu-ray is an added bonus.

millions of people are not going to buy the hd-dvd add on for the 360, because, as it's been said, the leap from dvd to hd-dvd or blu-ray is not big enough to spend money on.

the leap from ps2 to ps3 is.

ps: i went to the store today (hhgregg) and saw hd-dvd, it was unimpressive to say the least.

granted, i was watching the rundown, and i've never seen a blu-ray dvd play, so...

I could have sworn I read somehwere on here that someone said that watching a film on Blue Ray is like watching a movie through a grease stained window.

Edit: Then again I'm not sure how that's possible, has anyone seen Blue-ray?

APPARENTLY YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND THE HUGE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE 2.
'SONY' IS THE PRIMARY FORCE BEHIND PUSHING THE MUCH DIFFERENT, MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE 'BLU-RAY'.......AND THEY HAVE AS MUCH, IF NOT MORE, TO LOSE IF THE FORMAT DOESN'T TAKE OFF. 'MS', ON THE OTHERHAND, REALLY HAS NO STAKE IN HD-DVD AT ALL. WHATEVER HAPPENS, THEY'RE STILL COMMITTED TO DVD-9, UNTIL SUCH TIME THEY DEEM IT NECESSARY TO UPGRADE. WHATEVER FORMAT "WINS OUT".......IF ANY.......IS ALSO WHAT THEY'LL SUPPORT FOR THE PC.
