I figured I'd start this thread in honor of Frank Sinatra, born December 12, 1915...quite possibly the greatest, most charismatic performer ever.

I figured people could share favorite songs, quotes, bits about his life etc.

Of course my favorite quotes are in my sig, but one that always got me:

"I feel sorry for people who don't drink, because when they wake up in the morning that's as good as they're gonna feel for the rest of the day." -Sinatra

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FRANK!!!

Happy Birthday Frank.

I loved his song Love and Marriage.

I always think about that sketch from SNL where he beats up Bono while recording Duets.

so yeah, hail your sweet sexy voice and your Mafia connections.
they don't so much good now that you're dead and stuff, but still, while you lived you where in fact the king, I still have TONS of sinatra that I listen to, In fact his Christmas album is on heavy rotation at the office.

So really, if his music and influence on pop culture lives on (and should for decades to come) can he really be considered 100% dead???

Just a deep thought that came to me :woot:

I bet if Frank were able to see this he would say "What the **** are you wasting your breath for, I'm dead."

^^ Ouch...thanks Jerry...

I prefer to think he'd laugh then pour himself a Jack Daniels

Here's another great quote from Sinatra from when he was trying to get over Ava Gardner:

"Basically, I'm for anything that gets you through the night - be it prayer, tranquilizers or a bottle of Jack Daniels."
-Frank Sinatra

Too true...

I was set up, pally. I have no idea how that femur got in my trunk.

Happy birthday Frank.

My sig is taken from the Chairman. One the greatest entertainers ever. There hasn't been anyone since who can come close to his kind of cool. :csad:

Happy Birthday, Frank! You may no longer be among us, but you are with those you love you forever for you are immortal. And I love you ALL THE WAY, Frankie, baby! I bet out there, somewhere you're making other souls happy with your music and laughing your ass off at this thread with a bottle (maybe more) of Jack Daniels.

"May you live to be a hundred years old, and may the last voice you hear be mine." - Frank Sinatra.

My favorite song to celebrate Frank's day: They Can't Take That Away From Me
(God, there are too many too choose from! It's so hard to decide.)

^^ I was thinking more along the lines of "I Won't Dance" or "Come Fly With Me"...those songs always make me smile :D

^^I originally chose Come Fly With Me but I figured there'd be some others who'd choose that.

Speaking of dance, you owe me one. And a duet too. :o

Someday, when I'm awfully low
When the world is cold
I will feel the glow
Just thinking of you
And the way you look tonight... ;) :D

^^Whoa!! :wow:

I am listening to That EXACT part of that song as I read your post!!

I'm open for a duet anytime doll ;)

Seriously?! :wow:

We have to set up a YIM date for that. ;)

... With each word your tenderness grows
Tearing my fears apart
And that laugh that wrinkles your nose
It touches my foolish heart.... :o

Somehow I feel like DBella will have someone serenade her with a Sinatra hit, outside her window tonight.

Yeah that too, but after saying that. Come be real, you know he would say something like that.

Meh, he always had a great sense of humor and ALWAYS appreciated his fans, so I think he'd be cool with it. He knew what it was to lose his fame, and when he got it back, he knew to always appreciate it, and the fans that got him there, so it could go either way... :o

Don't forget to send it my way when it's ready. The two you've sent me aren't enough. Sometimes I listen to them before going to sleep. *blush*
