If GTA VI does indeed come out this year, nothing else stands a chance.

It depends. If Kojima gets Death Standing 2 out in 2025, well, Keighley's going to get his buddy the award. Granted, I think that is a big if at this point. Hazelight is a favorite of the game awards, so Split Fiction could be an underdog. I would also not count out Ghost of Yotei.

Death Stranding 2 is gonna be more pretentious dog **** from a creative who's in dire need of some form of editorial oversight. Epic gave me the first game and it still wasn't worth the cost of entry. If the "game" part of your game sucks, your game sucks.

AC Shadows should at least get an Action/Adventure nom.

I can't wait for this year to unfold as 2024, was pretty lukewarm when it comes to videogames.

There is also the question of if Nintendo is smart and launches the new switch with a new 3d Mario game. The only thing that beat Odyssey is a bias towards Zelda.

I just got done watching jacksepticeye and his gf (pretty much his wife at this point) Gab Smolders play it.

Right now its quite predictable if half of the GOTY nominations would be GTA VI, Ghost of Yotei and Split Fiction. I think the fourth one would be another massive triple A game from a big publisher (Death Stranding on the Beach, I guess!), then two indie games that are kinda under the radar.

Why did you skip Blue Prince?

2025 is a great year for AA/indie games. Would love to see some recognition for Blue Prince (haven't finished it yet), but this year's indie darling is clearly Silksong. Hades 2 comes out next week so we shall see.

I need to start Ex 33 and Tainted Grail. I’ve downloaded both but for some reason I’m just lacking motivation to even begin a new game.

Third parties have been fairly quiet for Nintendo. Game Awards may be a good place to announce Switch 2 upgrades to the Platinum games, along with a new game for Switch 2.

FFR3 possibly, though I think TGS is going to get the big stuff.
