This was published in 1955. I wonder what if any of it has changed of it since then. Ladies of the Hype, I especially encourage your opinions.
So, what happened in the past 50 some years that brought us into where we are now?
Women in the workplace. Can't wait on your husband hand & foot when you're both going to work and coming home wiped out. Couples share household duties now.So, what happened in the past 50 some years that brought us into where we are now?
Women do look good in ass chaps, don't you agree?I like the "Be a little gay and a little more interesting for him. His boring day may need a lift and one your duties is to provide it" advice.
And the pill. And full-time jobs.women got the vote
I watched an episode of Mad Men last night. I really wish I was a young upper-class white male living in the 1950s...
If I was living in the 1950s, I'd probably want to be an upper class white male, too. They were the only people having a good time in those days, as I understand it.I watched an episode of Mad Men last night. I really wish I was a young upper-class white male living in the 1950s...
Mad Men is set in '59 or 60?? Don Draper is the man....and probably getting someone pregnant right now

I think it's starts in the late 50s. that's what I was assuming.
Don Draper could get a chick pregnant just by staring at her! He's that good!
yeah, I wouldn't want to be anyone else. I see how they're treated. not nicely.

Although there are some guys who are still clueless about the whole "equality in the house" business. But it's not my relationship and therefore not my place to argue. At least they're just clueless and not actively evil misogynist pigs.
Yes, I'm well aware of that. I figured someone pointed that one out because of the "modern" definition, and I was running with it.There was a time when "gay" didn't mean homosexual. Gay used to mean happy.
Observations like this always skeeve me out. But then again I'm a chick.yeah. times were simpler back then. a good wife always knew her place.

Although I wouldn't say no to being a housewife, but if the wife has her own full-time job, the husband should pull his own weight around the house too. Or hire a maid. Whatever works and feels equal for both parties.
Times didn't get complicated. People just stopped keeping up appearances. They gave up the lie.
