The Hallmark Christmas Movie Thread

That was one of my favourite too, and probably my favourite of the ones made this year. And I happened to watch it on Christmas Day too so it was entirely fitting. There are still loads from this year I haven't watched as well but some didn't seem all that interesting anyway.
I agree that there are some that don't seem interesting. A few I didn't even record and there are others on my DVR that I think I'll watch that later and still have never been interested enough too watch. Has anyone watched Never Been Chrised? The preview didn't interest me and when I looked up reviews it didn't seem to be well liked either.

That was one of the movies I didn't bother to watch. The premise just didn't sound all that interesting. I started watching Flipping for Christmas but am not sure how interesting that is. Also what is Catch me if you Claus like?

This year's ones I've watched I'd probably rank as follows:

1. Miracle in Bethlehem, PA
2. Holiday Hotline
3. The Santa Summit
4. Sealed with a List
5. A Biltmore Christmas
6. Christmas Island
7. Mystery on Mistletoe Lane
8. Where Are You, Christmas?
9. Mystic Christmas
10. The Secret Gift of Christmas
11. Christmas in Notting Hill

Ones I haven't watched or haven't finished watching yet are:

Flipping for Christmas,
Friends and Family Christmas,
Checkin' it Twice,
Under the Christmas Sky,
Ms Christmas Comes to Town,
Christmas by Design,
Joyeux Noel,
My Christmas Guide,
Never Been Chris'd
Everything Christmas
A Heidelberg Holiday
A World Record Christmas
Navigating Christmas
A Merry Scottish Christmas
A Season for Family
Catch Me if you Claus
Letters to Santa
Holiday Road
Haul out the Holly: Lit Up
Our Christmas Mural
Time for Her to Come Home for Christmas
My Norwegian Holiday
A Not so Royal Christmas
Christmas with a Kiss
Rescuing Christmas
To all a Good Night
Magic in Mistletoe
Christmas on Cherry Lane
Round and Round
An Ice Palace Romance
Heaven Down Here

Do you recommend any of those? I usually go by actors I like first, and then recognise second, unless the premise really captures my attention.

I would definitely recommend A Merry Scottish Christmas - best Hallmark Christmas Movie I've seen in ages.

Checkin' it Twice, A Heidelberg Holiday, and My Norwegian Holiday were just okay. Sadly those were the only ones I had time for this year...

I'll have to check that out. You should also watch the top 5 on my list or even top 3.

I ended up watching Catch me if you Claus. That was more like a Hallmark Movies and Mysteries film than a regular Hallmark channel film. It wasn't about the usual tropes associated with a Christmas film but solving a mystery and catching crooks. Also the first kiss was about 2 thirds of the way in rather than at the end and was considerably longer and more steamy and passionate than a typical Hallmark kiss where it's just a peck. This was like a whole make out session by comparison with Italia Ricci sitting on top of Luke McFarlane in a car.

They couldn't even wait until AFTER Halloween to do this. :sigh:

There has been an influx of Hallmark Christmas movies from last year on Netflix....including two with Lacey Chabert, who is doing her own Netflix Christmas movie this year.

Lacey Chabert is the main Hallmark movie girl.

She makes a reference to Mean Girls in the Netflix movie trailer when a Christmas movie with Lindsay Lohan comes on the TV.

Yeah which is clever really because no one feels like anything too rough in the lead up to Christmas. I’m excited for a few of them

When I had just cable, I hated when Hallmark did this because it meant no more Frasier or Golden Girls until January.

Watched A Biltmore Christmas with Bethany Joy Lenz and Kristopher Polaha:

This also had Jonathan Frakes and Robert Picardo. It was a time travel story where the main character travels back to 1947 to the golden age of Hollywood.

Was a bit like Quantum Leap where she has to fix something in the past. Was also not at all like the typical Hallmark movie. At first I thought it was even going to end on a downbeat note without a happy ending but should've known they would've had it since that was one of the plotlines of the film.

This is one of the slew of Hallmark Christmas movies that just arrived on Netflix. While I had significant issues with the time travel elements in the horror film Time Cut, I did not have a problem with the time travel elements at the end of this film. What she did in the past (fall in love with the actor from 1948) affected the future (he ends up in the future with her).

But they were all of them deceived…for another ring was made

Has anyone watched any of this year's Hallmark Christmas movie offerings yet? I could start now but wondering whether to wait until December rather than November. Any recommendations?

Not the newer ones but I did watch The Nine Kittens of Christmas which starred Superman Returns’ Brandon Routh and it was so fun, probably my fave hallmark film

Well I caved and watched my first Christmas movie of this year: A Novel Noel with Julie Gonzalo and Brendan Penny. Refreshingly there wasn't some big forced misunderstanding in this one.

Watched The Christmas Charade starring Rachel Skarsten and Cory Sevier:

It's a fun and unusual Hallmark movie. It's more of an action movie - well as much as a Hallmark film can be. Maybe more like a Hallmark Movies and Mysteries film but in the vein of a spy caper with some elements of True Lies in it.

Watched A Reason for the Season which was pretty good. Had Taylor Cole and Kevin McGarry.

Don't see many others partaking in this thread this year. Have people lost interest?
