The Last Kingdom

I can't find anything on the google either...?

Source? I see nothing on it.

The BBC 2 voice-over guy said the show will return next year.

It is pretty common for the BBC to first announce if a show is returning after airing the finale. They did the same thing with the Peaky Blinders.

Kull Wahad !
I am Uthred son of Uthred born a Saxon but raised the Danes, now I must become something else, I must become the fastest man alive, I am Supergirl !

PS : don't ask...

The more i think about it, the more the final few eps felt rushed. They could have stretched it out another two eps and expanded on the fate of his friend Frida (who seemed to vanish the latter part of the season) and some other things, i.e the cause of his son's death, etc..

Still a good show though...the lead is likable, which makes the show likable (take note Bastard Executioner!)

It's official; back for season 2!

The Last Kingdom - Season 2 - Netflix Joins Series as Co-Producer

With shooting just begun on the second season of historical drama The Last Kingdom, Netflix has joined the series as co-producer and will air it next year in the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Germany, Japan, Spain and Portugal. BBC America, which broadcast the first season Stateside in 2015, is no longer involved. Netflix will add S1 to the U.S. library this year. From Downton Abbey producer Carnival Films, the fantasy epic goes out in the UK on BBC Two.

Season 2 picks up in the year 878 as the wild lands of the north have fallen into chaos and rebellion. Uhtred continues the fight for his native land of Northumbria. Having given his sword to King Alfred, despite his upbringing by the invading pagan Danes, he embarks on a voyage to reclaim his own fate and avenge Earl Ragnar’s death, recapturing his ancestral lands of Bebbanburg.

Returning cast also includes David Dawson (Peaky Blinders), Emily Cox (Homeland), Ian Hart (Boardwalk Empire) and Tobias Santelmann (Marcella). New cast includes Thure Lindhardt (The Bridge), Millie Brady (Legend) and Peter McDonald (Thirteen).

Awesome news. Netflix isn't shoddy in the production values department.

Glad Netflix is replacing BBC America. This show will have more potential and room to grow with Netflix at the helm.

Enjoyed the season two opening episode. Reminded me a little of Conan The Barbarian.

Father Beocca still has jokes. The pig in a dress line made me chuckle.

I really liked Hild in this episode.

David Schofield (Abbott Eadred) playing another ass**** character.

I am a bit puzzled by the nun ease to kill people. I knew about warrior monk but nun ??

Unless I'm misremeembering She was abused and raped by the Danes and has essentially sworn to herself and God that she will never allow herself to be helpless or weak again.

Really good episode this week. Poor Hallig.

Ceolwulf really wanted those wessex swordsmen lol

Last night's episode marked the conclusion to Bernard Cornwell’s third book, The Lords of the North.

Ragnar finally got his revenge on Kjartan in grizzly fashion. Sven got mauled to death by Thrya's wolves.

Aethelwold "I call it as I see it"
Uhtred "you have s*** in your eyes" :lmao:

Father Beocca remains the heart of this show

Brida is saying arseling now :woot:

Just finished S2. Loved it more than S1.
