Based on the short story from King’s 2020 anthology If It Bleeds, The Life of Chuck is three separate stories linked to tell the biography of Charles Krantz in reverse, beginning with his death from a brain tumour at 39 and ending with his childhood in a supposedly haunted house.

Nice to see Mark in another Stephen King film.

UPDATE ON LIFE OF CHUCK MOVIE

Mike Flanagan updates us about The Life of Chuck.

Flanagan said it’s a relatively small film and that film production may begin soon despite the strike due to circumstances that mean the project does not violate WGA and SAG rules. Studios like A24 have already signed agreements which allow them to produce films without any obstacles.

After watching House of Usher, I’m quite pleased that Hamill is on his way to being one of Flanagan’s regulars.

Hadn’t heard bout this but sounds right up Flanagans alley, especially with the reverse time table and of course, the Haunted House.

Nice to see Gillan back with Flanagan. I loved Oculus.

Shaping up to be a great cast.

What a hell of a cast for Flanagan to work with, he’s so adept at working with large ensembles and getting top notch performances from his actors this is no doubt going to be fantastic!

Lillard in a King adaptation is show-stopping news, and directed by Flanagan?!?!?! Same with Dastmalchian! I could not be more excited for this cast!

Started reading this a few days ago. Just finished the first (third) act. I see some Flanagan trademarks here, but it also feels like it might be pretty different for him.

Just finished the novella last night. It was relatively light, so I’m eager to see how Flanagan embellishes in order to make it a full-length film.
