I find his life the most interesting lately. I mean, he was the front man of a major band in the 70's and 80's......he went from Rock, to Opera, and back to Rock. He suffered through the end of his career to AIDS though he tried hiding it very well until the day of his death. He even suffered while making his final album with Queen. I think that a movie about him would be extrordinary. Especially showing his relationships with his lovers...and the woman that was more than just a lover. I forgot her name.....but I really wish they would make a movie of his life.

yeah, a lot of people have said how they want to see a biopic of his life....i agree, it'd be awesome if done properly.

It's almost too easy to cast him...Johnny Depp would be awesome in the role.

Really, if there were a Freddy Mercury biopic, I'd just go for the music. Nothing like two solid hours of rocking out to Queen.

I've always wanted to see a Freddy Mercury biopic and a Walt Disney biopic. Both men had really interesting lives. Hopefully one comes to light.

If they ever did a Freddie Mercury biopic, Ian Somerhalder would be perfect. He looks a LOT like him.

I was thinki8ng of Johnny Depp myself, but he's just a little too old

whoever it be, it just needs to be a story that will make everyone cry and feel for Freddie. His sexuality costed him, especially at a time where AIDS became rampant and there was no idea that it could be stopped

From what I could infer, S.B. Cohen wanted to focus on all the debauchery Freddie was involved in & the rest of Queen said no.
Which made me think 2 things :
1) were they trying to protect Freddie? Its not like we don't know what he was involved with.
2) Who gives them the right to just say no?
Its not their life to have total control over. I would think Freddie's estate should have final say.

BIG NEWS TODAY: Rami Malek ("Mr. Robot") cast as Freddie Mercury; Bryan Singer to direct.

Via QueenOnline:

Award winning director Bryan Singer is the man who will be bringing the Queen and Freddie story alive. If you’ve ever seen Singer’s X-Men films, or the groundbreaking movie The Usual Suspects, you’ll know this is a director with extraordinary imagination and style. A perfect choice to recreate the fabulous Queen years which brought us such unforgettable moments as Live Aid, which we can reveal will be faithfully recreated for a key sequence the film. More on that very soon.

Rami Malek has signed up to take on the challenging rôle of Freddie Mercury. Who could imagine a more perfect fit than this brilliant actor ? At this stage you probably know him best for TV’s Mr Robot. Roger and Brian told QOL: “Rami has great presence and he’s utterly dedicated to the project. He’s completely living and breathing Freddie already, which is wonderful.”
