never ever fall asleep watching House of 1000 corpses on dvd, because the dvd is cheap and the movie will just play on a loop while you sleep. All the audio was incorporated in my dreams but applied in different ways, mostly to my girlfriend. WORST DREAM EVER

post 2000!
That sounds like an awesome dream.

According to Zombie, he had a hard time with his Halloween movies (studio politics) and feels like remakes are running its course.
Yeah if you listen to his commentary he talks about what a hellish experience he had shooting it

Dear Rob Zombie,

You've contributed nothing to film society except one movie The Devil's Rejects and even that when picked apart isn't very original or breathtaking.

You destroyed a great horror icon beyond the point of repair. Please stop making movies. We'll all be better off.

You really are a pleasant person

I don't believe a word out of Zombie's mouth. He says that to make up for his **** vision as a director on those films.

You haven't seen this movie yet. It may very well be a decent film. Stop pre-judging everything you come across.

Everything about it so far seems typical Rob Zombie. So I can very pre-judge it if I want. The man as a director has one vision: Trash Cinema.

In your opinion. Besides, I don't know what your seeing in this thats soo "typical Zombie". There are barely any details outside of it takes place in modern day Salem and has some 300 year old witches in it. I knew this thread would just turn into another "trash the director" thread. :whatever:

That image released with the title on it is incredibly typical of Rob Zombie as a director.

A good director can see past one thing. Rob can't. He loves white trash, rape, curse words and that's it. He's never going to be a good director if he doesn't get behind this fetish he has.

The closest person to Rob as a director is Tarantino and his films show directoral differences. Rob has none. Every film of his can literally interchange with the other.

Look man, I get it. You hate everything Zombie does and there isn't anything that will change your mind. Just have some respect for those of us that like him and don't just wander around this thread bashing everything that comes along

Can't wait for this.

I also can't wait to see Rob Zombie again, I saw him in August at the Mayhem Festival and he put on a great show. And now he's coming back with Alice Cooper a week before Halloween.

Rob Zombie will always get my money when he comes into town.

I'm not bashing. Sharing my opinion of Zombie as a director is not bashing. The forum is free to both view points. Otherwise the forum would be boring.

I understand that. I guess I just get overly defensive having to defend every damn thing I like on this bored. First Resident Evil gets torn to shreds by various Hypsters and now that Zombie is doing another movie, I'm seeing the same level of complaining.

Believe what? That he had a hard time with the Weinsteins? If that's what you're talking about, it's true...

I know the Weinstiens have a history of dabbling with director's (Wes Craven's Cursed and Scream 3 come to mind in the horror world), but Zombie is using it as an excuse for the Halloween series.

Did the Weinstiens tell him to make Michael a product of White Trash? To make Laurie look like she hadn't showered in 2 months? To change the way Michael Myer's looks? To make him a grunting behemoth of a man? Nope. All Zombie. He uses them as an excuse for how his vision as a director just does not fit the Halloween series.

I agree that he shouldn't have done the remakes at all. He should just keep doing original work

That's not what he's talking. He's talking about how they made him rush it for the release date, go back and reshoot parts of the movie a month before it opens, and not have his final cut.

They made him reshoot parts of the 2nd half of Halloween to have it go in "Carpenterland" (mostly with Loomis' scenes and the graveyard scene). And like I mentioned before with the H2 reshoots...

I honestly don't think he's making any excuses for his Halloween movies.

He really just shouldn't have messed with doing the remakes. There are too many other forces in play when a remake is being done. When he did The Devils Rejects he was left alone to do as he pleases. House of 1000 Corpses had Universal messing with him so that movie ended up being a mess. When he did Rejects he was allowed to complete his vision uninterrupted. From what it seems he'll be left alone during "Lords of Salem". It is for that reason that I'm extremely optimistic.

Yep. His movie destroyed Michael Myers, not the one where he gets his ass handed to him by Busta Rhymes. :whatever:

The one where he had his ass handed to be him by Busta Rhymes wounded him. Halloween's remakes toyed with his character and made him into essentially Jason Voorhees.

Believe me I dont like defending Robs movies, cuz, well, Im not a fan. However, I did read an interview when he was doing the Halloween movies that, in his mind, it is more plausible for these horrific things to happen to people who are in the white trash world.

I dont see things that way. I believe that horrific things can happen to anyone, in any walk of life, at any time. I aso feel that it is more terifying when these things happen to the more "normal" class of people. Its not in their norm. This is why I really hope Zombie does his homework on the actual denizens of modern day Salem. The short period of time in which the witch trials occured is hardly discussed or acknowledged by the population of Salem. The only time its even brought into the forefront is around Halloween time, and thats mostly due to the tourist influx they get. So, keeping that in mind, I would find it more disturbing when a group of actual witches do decend onto this town and show those people what the real horror of dark witchcraft would be like.

But thats just me.

I agree with you. I'm giving Zombie the benefit of the doubt. I'm sure I'll like the movie regardless as I'm a HUGE Zombie fan, but I would like him to branch out a bit. I've read numerous places that the producers and production company are gonna leave him alone to do as he pleases.
