Ghost Rider - Aside from the upcoming DVD talk its dead

X-Men - These boards has NOTHING BUT FAN VS FAN against each other right now & I think these can be sacrificed just move the Solo Wolverine Thread stuff to Marvel Movies in Misc & there are plenty of other boards to go to to & whine about the X-Men trilogy & Hypes very own Marvel Movies section. Let the X-Men fans **** each other in Marvel Movies in Misc Movies the X-Men trilogy does not need its own place for that & as far as I am concerned the X-Men boards will never change.

We are looking to try to improve speed before having to increase our cost significantly. We know that upgrade will work, since it will involve a nice segregation of duties as far as the forums go...that will resolve that, just at a huge cost of getting a few servers extra (in addition to what we have) to handle the load the forums give.

I wonder would closing registration help ? ive not seen any other forum where a server has to handle nearly this many users

New members joining = larger audience

Therefore like TV advertising revenues are directly related to number of members.

They'd have even less money for the new servers if this happened

You guys already spent 3 weeksn with the hype down trying to fix the speed of Hype & will probably end up doing it this weekend as well & the chances are slim to none that it will work. Unless the server upgrade option is the option that is chosed the only other option is completely starting from scratch & new members will just make things worse although it shows how popular & well known Superherohype is

you don't like it stay away- there are a lot of people who like those forums, myself being one of them. Just because you don't go there or its not run the way you would like doesn't mean it can be 'sacrificed'

Well all the moderates on the x boards have got sick of the extreme fans who either think x3 is the most horrible movie ever and those who defend it to the hilt. look at the threads that are succeeding- manips threads and character threads where people tend to agree.

I've gotta say something here. To make a JamiePoole-ism, you're seeing the forest before the trees. There's more happening and more to deal with than you, as a user, are seeing. Even with us explaining what can, will and/or must happen, you're still not getting it. A reboot is the ABSOLUTE LAST RESORT. There are other things that we can do that we will do.

SuperHero Hype and ComingSoon have 6 servers completely dedicated.
Now for those of you that know, for two websites, this is quite large.
We have 4 webservers and 2 database servers.

We will get hardware in the future if required, simple as that.

I swear to god, you can't be on this site for more than ten minutes any more without getting an error of some kind. Plus there is a lag from hell. What is going on? Its been like this for a few weeks now. And its not my connection because every other site works fine...so may I ask why the Hype is experiencing so many difficulties?

Week-ends, weekdays...whatever. It just needs to be dealt with.

Not everyone has all day everyday available to post. Some work long hours and spend time with family, so when there's only, say, a half hour of internet time to use, and you can only post in two threads....well...it kind of sucks.
