What did you guys think of the BTS for ROGUE ONE?

It was good, and I do like how exotic they're going with the characters...but the lack of new trailer/Vader footage was frustrating.

Yeah, I was hoping for a full on trailer with Celebration. And by that I mean one we would ALL get to see. Which isn't to say that the BTS sizzle reel wasn't good. If anything it's rekindled the fire in my belly that I had as a kid watching any and all SW related stuff outside of the trilogy like the Droids/Ewok toons or the Ewok films. I wanted to always see more of the Rebellion/Empire struggle away from the main saga story so I would eat those things up. I have a soft spot for a lot of the EU material, especially the early anthologies TALES FROM MOS EISLEY CANTINA and TALES FROM JABBA'S PALACE. Getting a new film is just gonna be so satisfying and damn does it look good all around. Lots of texture which the best SW's movies have in spades.

Question... You think Thrawn is going to survive Rebels? I hope so. He's one of the best EU creations. It would be amazing to see him in other things on down the road.

Also... Did they say that Zahn is coming back to write new books or am I wrong?

I still find it hilarious that Kathleen Kennedy screams diversity at the top of her lungs by casting 20 something British brunettes, yet totally shafts the stars of the biggest and best in Asian cinema.

Oh yeah, seeing Warwick Davis in costume also really brought back the memories. Really with the use of practical effects, Thrawn's announcement, it's like the early 90s all over again.

And, there's this rumour that Dave Filoni has a sort of trilogy of animated series in his mind. The Clone Wars, Rebels, and potentially something Post-Endor. He's already implied that he thinks Rex was involved in the battle on Endor and previously when people talked about Ahsoka, he'd be cryptic in a way that, to me implied he had bigger plans for later on. What I imagine is that he's going to do is set up Thrawn in Rebels, much as he did with Darth Mau in TCWl, and then use the character again for this third series as one of the main villains. There's a 30 year gap between Jedi and TFA, so I figure Thrawn could show up from his time in the Unknown Regions and threaten the Galaxy again.

Zahn confirmed he's writing a new novel, yeah. Thrawn due out April next year. He also worked with Filoni as a consultant for season 3 of Rebels.
