Oh you are talking about the small bits of them actually fighting? yea hardly any damage in comparison to a whole lot of movies... most of the destruction was caused by the terraforming machine.

So...superman would kindly ask Zod... hey man... can we go fight in the woods somewhere? come on please? or would zod tell him to kiss his ass and start killing innocent people. :o

I always figured Zod would take the fight right back to Metropolis. It's gonna happen on Zod's terms. Movie didn't explicitly say that, but given he's former Kryptonian military and Supes is a relative newby to the fighting game...

To be fair there is a lot of empty space between the ground and outer space. Kick him up half a mile and fight there or throw him in a headlock and fly him to the moon but they were more interested in playing tag.

I can't believe BvS is getting destroyed by almost every media outlet I put stock in. Seriously makes me question if I'll see it this weekend.

I have heard the excuse before that Zod would just bring the fight back to Metropolis, but I don't buy it. I think it's a cop out to say that Superman had no choice but to destroy Metropolis and kill thousands because otherwise Zod would destroy Metropolis and kill thousands.

Who else here has a mom named Martha?

Its a case where you have no good options - so you pick whatever would cause the least harm; stop Zod there before his terraformer destroyed the planet. That's how I looked at it, and what I really enjoyed about the final battle (moreso than the action itself, honestly).

But I really enjoyed MoS. I wonder if I enjoyed MoS if I will enjoy BvS? Is BvS better than MoS?

Well given that both Superman and Zod knew that throwing each other through buildings wouldn't kill the other, it just seems like Superman could have moved the fight somewhere else less populated.

The only one being thrown through buildings was Superman you realize. He wasn't in control of the fight. He knocked Zod as high up as he could each time, unfortunately he's dealing with a power near or equal to his own. The actual only building to collapse...

You know what... NO. Just no. This is the sort of thing I have been through for three years. I frankly am getting too old for this ****. Literally. I am gonna be forty. So... If someone wants to be inaccurate in their description of something that is an entertainment to bolster an argument, who am I to use the actual events in the film to dissuade them from believing what they WANT to believe?

I thought it was, though as i said - Snyder needed a better editor.

This is what I mean about making **** up.

Once again... you are saying SUPERMAN destroyed metropolis... not sure if you went to the bathroom when the terraforming machine was destroying the city as superman was trying to stop it or what... but yea... Zod would absolutely go anywhere more people were because he know superman cared about them.

How do people miss these things lol ...

It's like people don't realize if Zod and co from the 70's had the same special effects and **** of MoS, it would have been just as bad.

Hahaha people take things so personally. Obviously if I was the only one who thought this it might be off, but I'm not. And it's an issue for a lot of people who saw the film.

You believe what YOU want to believe and I'll do the same. I don't care if you don't think I'm right because I don't buy your argument either.

The reason SUPERMAN II was held in such high regard for so long, and I do mean the Lester cut we all saw for DECADES was the collateral damage. We did not see anything of it's like again until maybe T2 and the scope of those fights was less than the battle in SII.

He did, Zod threw him back to people.

That awkward moment when your friend's jumping around in their undies on snapchat.

Except... You are factually totally wrong. This is not a thing about interpretation. This isn't about how you felt. It's as simple as character x did this and character y did that. I can't say that Luke Skywalker impregnated Princess Leia... Because it never happened. You can't place the destruction of Metropolis on Superman because, he wasn't responsible period and if anyone that reads this post goes to Youtube, they can easily see it too. The destruction of the city happens before Superman even arrives and it's not all the city, or half, or a quarter. And the only actual building that collapses in the five minute fight Zod and Superman has is caused by Zod and his heat vision. Your premise is false, you conclusion is false, you are in the face of the actual events of the film putting forth a narrative that in so many words is a lie. Period.

Zod is a more seasoned fighter, even with Kal-El being more accustomed to the use of powers.
That is one reason why Superman had a hard time keeping Zod up up and away from people.

In MoS, how I wish they have picked a different actor to play as Zod.

Wow. Did I touch a nerve? Did you work on the movie yourself and that's why you're so defensive?

I don't like disaster porn. It ruined the movie for me. It was over the top. I honestly don't care that you're all ******** about this and think I'm lying (really, wtf)? I'm not the only one who thinks so, so it's not like I'm completely out to lunch here.

Get over it.

Whatever man. Different perspectives. I didn't like it so the movie was not good for me. Tough.

The sky is not green, room temperature water doesn't melt the human face, people need to breath. Those are not matters of perspective. Superman not knocking Zod through buildings but being the one who is knocked through them instead, is also not a matter of perspective. What's tough is reading total inaccuracy. BTW, you can have legit criticism. There is noting made by man above criticism... But when people use total inaccuracy to bolster their claims, as I said, pretty much lies... Well it's hard to have considered conversation, sober analysis or a respectful back and forth cuz, ya know... Lies.

All Krypton did was explain what happened in the movie.
