It's a matter of buying materials. Those look like very expensive materials.

This movie is set in a fictional world were a teenage boy gets super powers from a radioactive spider, and you want to argue about textile prices?

Have fun with that.

Again, internal consistency. There's no reason why having genetic technology being able to producer spider men and lizard men should bring down fabric prices.

Anyway, it's not a major thing, I just would have liked it if the costume looked a little cheaper. That would actually help to ground the film with it's otherwise fantastical premise. Having everything not directly related to what makes the story unlike the real world be realistic makes it easier for the audience to lose themselves in the story and be moved by it emotionally.

You don't know the cost of this fabric or it's availability in this fictional world.

I think if audiences had a choice between a high quality suit, and a more "realistic" (cheap) one, they would choose the former every time. Let the cosplayers have the crappy suits.

No one gave a crap about how he made the suit in the Raimi movies, and now that a reboot is happening they're giving it crap. :whatever:

They're still bitter and jaded about the Raimi departure.

I think you mean former, not latter haha.

And I agree.

... have you not seen halloween spidey costumes? some of them are still better than what most people can hand sew themselves. It's a losing argument.. because lets face it.. he'd look ridiculous.

I actually had the same argument for the Rami movies, though they actually explained that in the movie novelization.

No, people were complaining about it for the Raimi films, too.

Akk! Um...would you believe me if I said I was writing from the point of view of the haters...? No? Ok, then. :csad:

I'm so sick of hearing the moaning that a teenager could not create the Spider-man suit. While it may be true would those same people who moan prefer Spidey swings around in a blue and red sweat suit?

This is a film about a teenager bitten by a radioactive spider who aquires super stenth and powers. I for one can look past the fact that the suit does not look home made.
