The movie Joss Whedon would have made...

^IMO we dont need to, Serenity was 100 times better than anything Ratner will EVER put out in his life and Whedon knows how to make characters engaging and make their storylines emotional. Serenity/Firefly was actually a bit like X-Men at some points with the family dynamic and of course River. I know you didnt like the movie but it at least had well developed characters and an emotional core, non of which X3 had IMO. Personally I think Serenity is one of the best sci-fi movies ever made. Watching Firefly previous to it just makes the experience even better.

I am 100% confident we would have gotten a better movie with Whedon.

But where does that leave you? It's not as if Whedon has a chance of making X3. It feels like empty protests at this stage.

It doesnt leave me anywere, it leaves in the same place I have always been were I hate the movie. But is there something wrong with discussing what could have been? This is a discussion forum after all.

Well, I could spend pages and pages and hours and hours discussing how the whole series should have been better and how a Peter Jackson trilogy would have elevated the X-Men into the stratosphere. But that's equally pointless.

X-Maniac, if we continue down that road we might as well close the boards. It's fun to discuss "what could've been" Especially for people who didn't like X3 ... Why are you so set against it?

Personally, I think it furthers dissatisfaction and unhappiness if you are always wishing for what you didn't get. It doesn't seem to be a healthy way of looking at things, especially if it's a finished project and there's no chance to influencing it in any way.

I'd rather I earned £20million a year, but you don't see me going on and on about it for pages.

Now, if there was an X4 on the cards and we could speculate, suggest, stomp and scream about who we wanted as characters, writers, director, etc, that would be entirely different.

But if others want to talk about 'what could've been' (even if none of it can be proven or achieved), I'll stay out of it. But I'd rather think within the structure of what we did get, such as the timeline someone posted in the Wolverine thread that suggests how that film fits into the trilogy. That, to me, enriches the movie mythos.

It's probably not healthy (I don't see anyone having nervous breakdows, but OK), and quite pointless even, but then again so is this section. The movie has come and gone. Should the X3 board be closed?

This thread has 2 pages. Filled mostly by you. Maybe you should stop giving this pointless thread any more attention.

But this is a thread about what Whedon would've done with X3, not about Whedon doing X4, so see above. And there would be nothing wrong with discussing an entirely hypothetical scenario in which Joss Whedon was handed the keys to X-Heaven.

Suit yourself.

^Totally agrtee I Am The Knight, I like discussing what could have been, I couldnt possibly hate X3 any more, so it doesnt affect. And you are right, if discussing these points is so useless, we may as well shut down the X-Trilogy part of this thread completely. When you get a movie so dissapointing, you cant help but wonder what could have been IMO.

Yea, even I like discussing the "what if's" of the movie.

I even still enjoy kicking ideas around for what I would have done were I the person making the film.

It's just good harmless fun.

If you don't like discussing it, then don't come in the thread and don't discuss it. But let those who do do it. It won't affect you at all.
