I was thinkin about X3 and everything and how things turned out for some of the characters. Then it hit me, should've Logan just injected the "cure" into Jean instead of killin her?

Yeah. Even if Logan kept the cure hidden, Jean would've sensed it and destroyed it (or him).

Im sure he could've just taken one of them when they were close to him and Storm when they were takin cover and whatnot. Then hold one in his hand then instead of stabbin her with his claws, inject it.

That makes perfect sense. Jean acepted to die, so could have acepted to being injected. Is the same.

But the studio wanted a more tragic finale, so why not? Let's kill Jean.

Is stupid. They had the cure plot, and used it with Eirk, but killed Jean.

Anyway.....

curing her, still would only solves half the problem, though
i mean, she’d still have the possibly dangerous second personality, and with out the professor, around to help block in the phoenix in again, she would never be the same, and even if she somehow did gets the phoenix suppressed, she would still have to live with the fact that she killed the man she loved, the professor, and countless others
Jean, as she was, basically died at he end of x2, so, killing her was just, put things back in balance, anyway, she begged, for him to kill her, knowing that it was the only way she could ever be at peace

While it might have been an idea to show Wolverine attempting to march up to Jean with cure needles... SpiderFan-83 is right: ultimately, she had to die because of what she had done to Cyclops, Xavier and the hundreds of soldiers. There would be no coming back from that to a normal life.

In the original ending of the Phoenix Saga, in the comics, Jean was 'cured' by the galaxy's top psychics who lobotomised the part of her mind that wielded the Phoenix power. But Marvel bosses said she couldn't just get away with having killed an entire planet (when she consumed the planet's sun, it went nova and the planet died), so they ordered that she die.

The same logic applies to the movies.

Phoenix has to die. That's how the story ends.

but it was Jeans wish to be killed. She told him to kill her, to save her. Also, with Jean, if she became Jean again and learned what she had done... would she still be able to live with herself?

Well Jean AND Cyclops didn't have to die, IMO.

Exactly what I was about to say.
So often people forget that even if she was cured, she'd still be schizophrenic.

yes, but she'd be alived, and that's the most important thing.

People can be ill, but that don't justify to kill them. But I understand her death, in some form.

They should move on to other characters now.

She didn't accept dying until Logan spoke with her. If he had tried to approach her with the cure needle, she would have seen him as being just like all the other people she was killing, and killed him. Even if he tried to conceal the needle, Jean would have sensed it. Remember, she's not just telekinetic: she's telepathic, too (not to mention psychopathic, lol). Even if concealing it as he approached her would have worked, he probably wouldn't have been able to grab a needle in the first place without her seeing it.

Remember, also, that she wasn't rational at this time. You might think that he could have reached her, talked her into getting cured, then grab the needle; but Jean wouldn't have gone for that. If he refused to kill her, she would have done exactly what she did in the Mansion - attacked him. Actually, she probably would have killed him this time. Killing her was really the only thing he could do.

She would have destroyed it or Demonalisted it what ever that long word is which she does to things lol.

But yeah would have been nice if she lived and Logan died lol.

Or they remake the whole film again or films lol.

Get a real Scott and Jean, and Phoenix story not this stupid one where Jean just stands around the whole time doing nothing lol.

But still I would cast Famke and James still they looked the part

She wasn't just "ill", though.

She killed Cyclops, the man whom she loved.

She killed Charles Xavier, the man who was like a father to her.

She killed countless soldiers on Alcatraz.

Yes, curing her would take those destructive powers away from her, but the whole point was that she didn't want to live with the knowledge that she had killed those people (it began in the infirmary after she had killed only Scott).

She wanted to die, because of what she had done. Sure, you could cure her, but that wouldn't take away the torture she'd face within herself every waking moment for what she did. It wouldn't take away her instability. And just because somebody doesn't have mutant powers doesn't mean they aren't dangerous; with her mental instability, she could have gotten a gun and gone out and killed others.

Would the cure even really work on her? Look what it did to Magento. The final shot of the film looks like he still has some of his powers left, and Jean was a much more powerful mutant.

Since most of Logan's clothing and a good portion of his skin didn't make it to Jean, I highly doubt a syringe would've survived Jean's defenses.

Killing her made for a more dramatic ending. But he should have stuffed a cure gun between his butt cheeks, then as he got near her, grabbed it out his ass and plugged her, as marv would say.
