I am glad to see another issue of THANOS IMPERATIVE get a reprint. Sales on that event have been down compared to WAR OF KINGS, but reprints add to those sales, and it seems out of 3 issues, at least two have been reprinted. Still, given how many reprints Marvel has issued, even to VENGEANCE OF THE MOON KNIGHT #10 or a slew of SECOND COMING titles, you'd think Marvel would catch on about how conservatively shops are ordering after years of spamming and adapt.

Isn't it disgusting that out of 5 Marvel books, only one is still $2.99? Still, not a terrible expensive week.

JOE THE BARBARIAN #7 (OF 8) (MR) $2.99 - (This mini has been a huge disappointment. I'll finish it out; but, I haven't even read the last two issues yet. They still sit in my box of "need to reads.")

Joe the Barbarian's been fun, but I was honestly expecting something more high-minded than what it was. I mean, it's Grant f***ing Morrison, yet this is basically just a straight imaginary fantasy tale in the tradition of the Narnia books. And, y'know, diabetes.

MARVEL COMICS

CAPTAIN AMERICA PATRIOT #1 (OF 4) $3.99 - probably trade-wait on this one.
NEW MUTANTS #17 $2.99 - interesting arc so far.
STEVE ROGERS SUPER-SOLDIER #3 (OF 4) $3.99 - good story.
X-23 #1 $3.99 - Liu's Black Widow story was good, so I'll be interested to see how she does here; though I'd never have guessed that Laura would get an ongoing not written by Kyle & Yost.

Brightest day #10 $2.99

Brightest Day I'm taking an issue at a time right now. This is a bigger week so we'll see what I think about it when I skim. Thunderbolts is most likely officially cut but I said that last issue too and ended up buying it (by mistake). So I'll likely skim this issue but I likely won't get it. Shadowland: Ghost Rider could be interesting. I'll skim it and if it's of any relevance to the main story I may get it. If it's more like Elektra and Bullseye's tie-ins I'll pass it up.

As for those on the definate list, I'll say that X-Factor is hovering there. It's not quite on the cut list but it's hovering. The same goes with New Mutants. It's my least favorite of the X-Titles but last issue really did make me curious about this threat so I'm kinda curious what happens in the rest of the storyline. I'm most excited for the first three though. Anything having to do with a Green Lantern title is always aces in my book. Emerald Warriors didn't have the best first issue so hopefully it'll pick up. I picked up the current stuff with Titans on a whim a few weeks ago and loved them so I'm eager to see what happens now with the whole Arsenal thing. And Incredible Hulks has been great for a good year or more now. I'm kinda counting down to the end of this Hiro-Kala storyline as I may drop the title come then due to financial issues, but if it retains its quality I may continue it. It really has been good, pretty much since Skaar came on the scene.

Honestly, I think it's been pretty dull and has dragged quite a bit; seems like one of those things being written specifically for trades.

It seems more like a tour of this nifty world Morrison dreamed up more than anything else. The plot is pretty dodgy.

DV8 GODS AND MONSTERS #6 (OF 8) $2.99
HELLBLAZER #271 (MR) $2.99
JOE THE BARBARIAN #7 (OF 8) (MR) $2.99- It weird, whenever Morrison's books head toward their conclusions they're always massive delays.

:awesome: for small weeks.

THOR: FOR ASGARD #2
THOR: FIRST THUNDER #1

An Asgardian week! I MIGHT pick up GREEN LANTERN: EMERALD WARRIORS #2, but it's doubtful. I didn't much fancy adding a third Green Lantern ongoing to my pull list, and the first issue didn't do much to wow me. In fact, I'm also considering dropping Green Lantern Corps when this current arc is wrapped up.

I'm worried about GLC. Tomasi left some pretty big shoes to fill, and I have to say, Bedard hasn't had a spectacular start. He gets the characters pretty well, but this Alpha Lantern arc is like a beige folder filled with facts and figures to me. I can't seem to care about anything that's happening.

Yeah, I agree. I worried that the title would suffer without Tomasi, and while Bedard is competent enough, much like you, I don't really care about the story he's telling.

Also, I thought THE WALKING DEAD #77 was supposed to be out on September 15th. :(

If not for REBELS, I might just call it quits on GLC after this arc myself. But Bedard clearly knows how to do fun sci fi stuff in space, as the former series shows, so I'm willing to call this arc a macguffin. Plus I really like Kyle, Soranik, and now Ganthet.
