What do you guys think? Why is it called "The New iPAD", and not IPAD 3?

All i see in the improvement is better screen resolution

Simple, because they want people to buy it.
It's a shame people buy into the hype.

I think I might buy an used iPad 2 since alot of people will probably sell the older models so they can buy the "new" iPad.

It's a reboot. They're rebooting the ****ing iPad.

The spec upgrades are nice but ultimately, the extra processing power will never be used by 99% of the people who buy an iPad. The 3 million pixels will look gorgeous but really most people use an iPad to do the same things they do on a laptop. Look at cat videos.

i was expecting a new design. what's the point of a new device if it looks exactly the same as the one before (ex. iPHONE 4 and iPHONE 4S)

The look being the same doesn't bother me. I mean, there's not many ways to with when designing a tablet. Plus, you have Apple suing Samsung across the globe over it, so it would seem dumb to change it now. I think the increased specs are great but again, how many people use all that processing power on an iPad? How many people play such graphically intense games on an iPad? I think I would rather just buy an iPad 2 at this point and save myself the $100. I'm only going to use it to watch Netflix, surf the web and make fun of people on here.

I'd pick one up if I had the cash. I've definitely been sitting on the couch using my phone to browse the web and thought how much better it'd be with an iPad.

Because the fanboys complained, so they decided not to change the costume.
