Now I'm going to list my needs, so read those before you give me what you think I should get. I'm a math teacher and I need access to apps that allow me to simulate two dimensional and three dimensional graphs. Along with that software/apps to make notes and save as Word documents or PDF files. I'm using this mainly so I can teach via a projector. I know the iPad 2 has a cable so I can connect to a projector but I'm not sure about the Xoom (Projector is VGA not HDMI). My other needs are to use it for chatting with my wife through MSN messenger or something equivalent, watching videos, creating/editing MS Office files, and surfing the web.

Now that you've read what my needs are, what device is better for me?

I'd go with the Ipad 2 myself, the Xoom and android honeycomb is beautiful but it hasnt had time to mature as a tablet yet, honeycomb itself doesnt have nearly as many apps as Ipad 2, yes the Xoom is more unique in terms of having just a pure tablet os but the Ipad 2 and the way IOS works with it and the apps are just too much. In short, you'd get more bang for your buck with the ipad 2

As far as power, the Nvidia Tegra 2 is quite impressive. It actually was bench marked on some new smartphones and didn't even sneeze when they threw what they had at it. Basically it's so powerful and capable right now, that there isn't much developed that can actually fully take advantage of it.

With that said, a tech website, I can't remember which, ran some bench marks on the A5 duo core chip, the one in the iPad 2. It crushed the Tegra 2 duo core chip that's inside the Xoom.

So there's that to also consider.
