Yep, new Black Queen's Knight, new Suicide Squad, an arc involving Alan Scott's tenure as White King, and Bronze Tiger are all coming up. From all of that, we can of course extrapolate that the message Rucka is trying to get across is that Checkmate will pwn all other comic books put together.

the only i hate about this book is everyone codename is after some freakin chess piece. i can't remember any of those chess piece names nor do i care for them...it really gets annoying after awhile.

what rucka should've done was create secret organzation within checkmate( if you've seen X files you know what im talking about) the members of the organization will held secret. you'll only see them in shadows or thier silloute. and the organzation will assign a chess piece to each member the main members(bourdeuax(sp?),fire, count vertigo, etc.) they would'nt have chess piece codenames. they would be the organzations puppets..

its kinda hard to explain, but imagine playing chess and the pieces you move would signify one of the members. in order to advance, members of the secret organization would coerce the puppets into a situation that either benefits them or checkmate. something like that.

thats not even the equivalent of what i just said. since the members are'nt even green in the first place. They wear uniforms, and uniforms are standard when it comes to joining militray type of service. all im saying that the book can work without the codenames.
