I didn't find any thread for this awesome little gem of a title.

I had no intentions of buying it, but with the rave reviews it's been getting, I decided to pick it up. And wow, never thought a title with Didio as the writer could be this good.

This is what comic books should be like. Old-school, fun, action-packed. It has replaced Snyder's Batman as my fave New 52 title.

I suggest people who love good old fashioned superhero comics to try it out. You will not regret it. You'll be OMACTIVATED. And no, I'm not Dan Didio.

I didn't like the first issue, but the second was pretty good. The biggest problem I have with this title is the art feels dated.

But the art is the greatest thing about it for me. It's old school, great pacing, very dynamic, and the energy in it is amazing. It's stylized, not trying to make it look like real life, but more like comic books. I enjoy artists like this one, like Sale, Manapul, Rude, Pope, the same way I appreciate the more realistic and detailed art like Paquette, Williams III, and Reis. Too many comics are trying to be more like movies, OMAC isn't ashamed to be a comic book.

And it's a Jack Kirby homage and Kirby is timeless.

I was unsure that I was going to keep going with OMAC but it's too fun to drop.

I like all of the artists you listed, it's not being unrealistic that I have a problem with, it's just that next to all the ones you listed, it's just not as interesting. It's very 60's marvel. Just not a style I care for.

To each his own. It's like a love letter to Kirby's art and it's awesome and nostalgic.:)

I know exactly what you mean. There are lots of great titles out there and more established characters, but this comic is just infectious. Too much comic book fun. I won't say it's the best of the 52, it's close to the top, but it's definitely my favorite, and I've read more than half of the new 52. It's the reason I love superhero comics.

16? wow, it was the absolute lowest selling book.

According to DiDio, even if O.M.A.C.'s sales were cut in half in comparison to the first issue, it would still be above the new threshold DC holds for title cancellation.

very nice

there are a lot of books on the lower end of the sales chart whose cancellation would crush me

2nd month will be better times for this title. Its got a loyal fanbase that will be returning for no. 2. It will rise up the ranks of the new 52 so as animal man.
