Congrats!I wanted to get a new PC (I still only have a 2080S), but I'm waiting to see what the 50 Series will look like. If it was impossible to add a disc drive I never would've bought it as I only play games from disc (my internet has a data cap), but Playstation Direct still had disc drives in stock so I grabbed one of those, too (it already arrived in the mail).
This is actually my first console that I'll get day and date. I didn't get the PS3 or 4 until over a year after release, and I didn't get the PS5 until last fall (wish I had waited for the slim, then I wouldn't have had to buy the disc drive separately).
I just hope it ends up being worth it and developers take advantage of the new raytracing features. It'd be kinda boring if the Pro upgrades are only increases in resolution.
OMG. Sony is getting rewarded for their arrogance, ugh. I was hoping this console would flop.PS5 Pro is the Bestselling Console on Amazon Right Now
Despite severe criticisms over its $700 price tag, the PS5 Pro is currently the bestselling console on Amazon's sales charts.gamerant.com
Not my hometown being on that list, but crossed out. Did they announce and cancel it all on the same day?
The website says that there's still concerts to be announced, so hopefully this'll be rectified I swear it's safe to come, Playstation...Not sure what you guys did, but that is spite. They put your name on there just to make a point of them not going ha

It looks like Pearl Abyss' long-awaited action-adventure Crimson Desert will release across all platforms as Korean publisher want to maximise their profits.www.altchar.com
Unfortunately seems the case across the board. Lower quality games designed with monetisation in mind above all else and way above artistic merit is the order of the day at the moment.Well this ain't reassuring
Former PlayStation boss says games are "seeing a collapse in creativity" as publishers spend more time asking "what's your monetization scheme?"

PlayStation had made a name for themself with the whole, single player, third person, story driven entertainment. Pivoting to these lower quality games didn't make any sense for them, even with monetization in mind.Unfortunately seems the case across the board. Yep, that’s why despite being happy for Helldiver’s success it’s a double edged sword if it gives them more confidence in those plans and leads to them putting large amounts of their budget for games into those kinds of games.PlayStation had made a name for themself with the whole, single player, third person, story driven entertainment. They really missed the boat with the Jurassic World hype.Oh, but I am super excited to finally have the opportunity to play Dino Crisis!

I think I have said this before but Helldivers 2 is the exception, not the norm. Instead of investing in more and more of those types of games, they should invest ONLY in Helldivers 2 to make sure its player base remains steady, and focus the rest of their cash flow on their other games.Yep, that’s why despite being happy for Helldiver’s success it’s a double edged sword if it gives them more confidence in those plans and leads to them putting large amounts of their budget for games into those kinds of games.
