Playstation The Official Playstation 5 Thread

Yeah I'm down to 12 haha. Not counting Legion/Valhalla as I already saved money for those. Would have been 10 by now, if only I was in the mood to pick up re7/Injustice 2 which are under 30 dollars now.
Good work! It was quite fun watching you get through them.

With that ad officially kicking off the next-gen marketing campaign, it seems like more stuff is imminent. It Has Begun!!

The future of gaming is here!

Though I'm still waiting for a truly gen look for the ps5 games. Like if you compare a game like AC: Unity a 2014 game, to most 2004 games. You will really notice the 10 year difference. There are recent games like Re3 that look graphically advanced from 2014 games, but for open world games, I have yet to see. I'm hoping Watch Dogs Legion will significally look better from Watch Dogs 2 (wd2 looks amazing though). While graphics wise, I don't think Valhalla looks more photo realistic than Unity/Syndicate.

There are just too many cartoony games shown in the ps5/series live streams for my taste.

God of War 5 will blow our socks off I'm sure.

Various devs talking more about the Dualsense controller.

Presenting PlayStation’s first global ad spot showcasing key immersive features for the PS5 console generation

I wonder how the Series X controller compares to the Dualsense in terms of haptic feedback and the level of "immersion" those devs are talking about.

If Dualsense outclasses the Series X controller in this regard, this could be yet another "secret sauce" (after the SSD) for the PS5. Next gen on the PS5 will change not only how the games look and perform, but how they feel and how you experience them.

I wonder how many years. 2022 possible?
The teaser/gameplay trailer for God of War came out more or less 2 years before the game release. So if it comes out later this year then maybe, but I think thats going to be out in 2023 the earliest.

I'm more intrigued with Naughty Dogs' next game as Uncharted 4 is still one of the best looking games that came out in the ps4. Imo, it looks better than Last of Us 2 and God of War 2018.

I don't fully get this haptic feedback but Sony marketing their new controller sounds more impressive than Series X's power, since you are going to touch and possibly feel something new in your hands when you get the Dual Sense with this haptic feedback. Is the controller going to feel heavy or ticklish during a game? I'm intrigued.

However, not a lot of ps4's games used the ps4 controller's motion sensor. I think I can only name two games (Last of Us/Infamous) in which I had to shake my controller. I hope more games utilizes the motion sensor because its a cool feature.

agreed.

hope the new features of the Dualsense will be used broadly and make a meaningful difference, and not just be another rarely used gimmick (that drains battery life) like the Touchpad and Lightbar on the PS4 controller.

It’s interesting, I wonder if this is the generation China really roars to life in the video games arena. I’m not sure most people would really know anything about gaming in China but I can see it being huge
It would the biggest market probably if the government viewed gaming more positively and lifted restrictions.

Oh ok, quite a wait!

Those are my 2 favourite Sony franchises and both in genres I love, with Godbof War being in my favourite genre (which helps give it the edge for me).

In before Tencent financially supports the game and the CCP will be spying on the players. :o

Ha, yes all joking aside that could be an issue going forward

Ha, still I reckon plenty of people will jump at the opportunity. All I see young people tweeting about these days is WAP this and WAP that which I assume means “wonderfully assembled PlayStation”
