Playstation The Official Playstation 5 Thread

also, in the past I traded in God of War, Resident Evil 7, etc, after completing them so knowing they're coming to Playstation Plus on PS5 for no additional charge is music to my ears.

No I heard it’s about the same I also tried preordering through sams club still no luck :argh:

Same with me, about five minutes after it went live on there. It did the same thing as Best Buy where I had it in my cart, entered my cc info and still didn't let me complete the order. I guess it's just as well since there was an additional $50 processing fee for non-Sam's Club members. Still, I'm stalking Twitter to see if any new preorders open up but it's looking a bit bleak at the moment since Amazon, Best Buy, Target and Wal Mart are all sold out.

Bro if you find anywhere please let me know? I’m busy at work all day and **** I’m checking when I can here and there. But this is just so disappointing.

Sure, I'll keep an eye out. If anything comes up I'll report back here. I also tried preordering through Sony but it seems to be a lottery where you enter your PSN ID/email and if selected, you get to preorder through them.

PlayStation 5 | Direct Pre-Orders

I don't live in America but do you guys really need to pre order? As like if there won't be ps5 available for walk-in costumers in November/December in your retail store?

I don't remember the PS4 launch being like this but then again I waited a year before I got one. There also wasn't a pandemic going on at that time and the launch titles weren't as strong as the PS5's either.

It's possible. But usually extremely hard to find consoles in stock at stores around launch period. You'll have to do a lot of calling around and visiting multiple stores in person to increase your chance of finding a console.

If the PS5 preorders are an indication of demand level, then I think it will be hard to find these consoles in stock at stores. The current pandemic conditions could mean less traffic than normal at the stores. So that could work in your favor for trying to find a console on store shelves. However, it could also mean more people will order online to pickup in store.

I remember the PS4 was very hard to find in stock at my local stores at launch. Especially at Best Buy (my preferred store) and Gamestop. I had to call around stores frequently to check in, and finally got word from Toys R Us that they "might" have some in stock. So, I rushed down to get it, even though I didn't normally shop there for games and consoles.

I also remember previous generations, like PS2, where my dad had to stand in long lines to buy one for me for Xmas.

Switch was very hard to find in stock at launch. I finally found one in the wild about 2 or 3 months after launch.

I'm waiting to see if there's a black or blue variant. I really don't want a white console next to my tv, ps4 and laptops. Any idea when ps4's variants were released?

Also, the current pandemic is creating supply chain disruptions and shortages, as well as increasing consumer demands for consoles. Just look how hard it has been to find current gen PS4s, X1s, and Switches. The store shelves are usually empty of consoles and even online they are sold out.

So, just imagine how hard it will be for these new consoles. That's why I chose to preorder the PS5 this time around. Normally, I don't preorder consoles (this was my first time) and just try to take my chances getting it in stores around or after launch.

I actually feel like it's harder to find a Switch now than it was when they launched three years ago.

so, do we know if Sony still has an event planned for PAX tomorrow?

Yeah there won't be any black friday madness this year except online.

At this point, I’m either waiting my typical 3 month delay on new PlayStations (I do the same with Apple products) or until the officially announce a black edition.

Has anyone tried preordering in a store yet? I'm almost tempted to try either Best Buy, Target or Gamestop but I don't think it's going to be successful given how fast the online preorders went.

Well it’s been a rough journey. But I’m proud to say boys, I got one. Was able to snag the standard console and the headset from Target.
