Most of the best parts of Days Gone take place towards the end of the game and it's a bit of a long game that takes a while to really get going but it's worth sticking around for.

He long does it take to get to the good parts? (I’ve never played it)

I wanna say it took me about 20ish hours to get to the really good stuff. It's a long game.

It is and I didn't even do every side quest because the game is so stressful.

Now its been years since i played it, wow what an eXperience. I don't think I want to play a game in that environment again but I was quite immersed to its surroundings. It was literally The Walking Dead meets World War Z.

The environment is stressful.

The enemies in the open world randomly spawn. Iirc there were also animals, crows, bears and wolves. At one point, I was just merely going from point a to point b, and I was ambushed on the road by human enemies and it was an instant death. Then when I activated a fast travel (yes you have to do something just to activate fast travel points), two screamers came out and I was cornered. When they scream, they attract more zombies. And one time, I almost ran into a horde of zombies, it was crazy. And your bike runs out of gas, so thats another thing to always consider.

The environment did get to be a bit boring and tedious at times in Days Gone. There's no sprawling city like GTA V or various changes in geographical locations like in Red Dead Redemption 2. It's mostly woods for the majority of the game.

It was tedious, thats why I didn't bother clearing up the side objectives.

In hindsight, i appreciate it more now because the world they built was quite unforgiving.

Though iirc, 1/3 of the map had snow, then the other section (the military people arc) had muddy landscape near their base.

The game was set in a rural area and there were really no landmarks.

well I had a co worker who wanted to get a PS5 but did not have the $$$ to drop on even a used one as they are only 50 bucks less than new. So I did what I did in the past for friends and other past co workers, I sold him my a little over a year old one to him for a good price, he gets a nice used and cheaper model PS5, I paid the difference and got a new one, win win.

After seeing it in person for almost 3 years, I have to say the original ps5 model is kinda ugly.

16k is probably overkill. Besides, 8k is still only technically a thing and not really widely avaliable. We'll have a ways to go before 16k or anything inbetween is out.

Oh right. If you don't get any enjoyment of being put in these situations maybe it's not worth stressing yourself and better to play more relaxed games? There are some games that are a bit too much for me.

16k is overkill. Just imagine collecting all those films in VHS, DVD, Blu-Ray, UHD 4K and I think 8K physical media is probably possible as I'm now seeing 8k videos on YouTube. 16K resolution TVs are also already available in the market.

PS6 is estimated to be out by 2028 and a PS6 Pro would come out in 2033, if we use the gap between PS5/PS5 Pro - the latter is reported for a November 2024.

I am now accepting with technology, everything is just going to be upgraded from time to time. And who knows by 2050, whats the standard resolution for TV/videogames and cameras.

There is going to be 16K by Ps6 Pro isn't it? Weird I don't know what 4K was back in 2010 and now there's 8K.

I always said 4K would become widespread (on the Hype) way before it was, but the benefits of higher resolution beyond 8K are not worth it unless you are playing on a cinema sized screen (I used to play on a film projector so it actually was important lol). TVs are much bigger now than they used to be which made 4K worth it but they would already need to get a lot bigger to make 8K have any real value given what you'd have to give up in other gaming resources, and anything beyond that isn't realistic IMO for the average gamer's home. Even if TVs support certain resolutions (which can be fine for non-interactive content), it doesn't mean those resolutions are good for gaming as they take so much additional processing power to achieve that you are giving up on a lot more for little marginal benefit.

What's the difference if it's exclusive? I didn't understand that part. Can understand the attraction of the other parts as you don't know how frantic/stressful the action might be based on those alone.

Maybe it could be better just to play the games you think you'll like most rather than sequels to the ones you've already played or the ones that are exclusive?

But this is really more like a Wii U. I'm baffled why this eXists. I get that PlayStation 5 has plenty of accessories but are people really going to buy this and play this especially if you still need to be near a ps5 that is connected to a circuit.

This marketing video sold me on playing Days Gone.

And yes, Bend Studio is already working on a new Ip.

Anyone else here who haven't upgraded to PS5 yet? I already brought all the three 2021 games in my waitlist. I didn't really need to eXperience them through a PS5 since they load up faster than Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and they look great.

I have caught up to PS3/4 games that interest me. I recently got The Last Guardian and LA Noire which weren't in my list since I rarely saw them before in retail stores, so they were like bonus purchases. I feel like if I see The Order 1886 and Red Dead Redemption 1 (if its ported) I would buy those, but they aren't must haves at this point.

So I'm now starting to canvass for a PS5, which I'm not sure if I have to upgrade right now. I look at my wishlist, I have 4 2022 games and 6 2023 games, 5 of those have a PS4 disc and they are all still over $60 dollars. In 2 to 3 years, they would be much cheaper. For 2024 games - Wolverine, Suicide Squad and Death Stranding 2 are the only ones in my wish list. I don't think my 2024 list would be much longer 12 months from now. I will also buy Assassin's Creed Mirage for the PS4 as all my AC games have a PS4 banner.

Long story short, I'm kinda glad that I still don't have a PS5. I feel like I'm saving extra penny not buying these games right away and even if I already got a ps5 and bought those available games, both my ps4 and ps5 would be collecting dusts right now. I want to see what the new Ps5 looks like first and the PS5 Pro as well, so I would have more options when the time comes to really upgrade. 2024 is come by quickly and I'm thinking long term that I would be playing and streaming through the PS5 in the mid 2020s up to the 2030s, but there isn't really a lot of games to catch up right now and neXt year.
