The Zane costume actually looks bada$$ up close, it has all these silkscreened micro patterns like the Spidey and Superman suits. I dont understand why they cannot do a character accurate costume.

I'm a fan the Phantom (grew up with the Billy Zane movie and Phantom 2040) and I like what the Knaufs did on Iron Man: Director of SHIELD. But this is disappointing. The description for the concept art is even worse. I like the Phantom because he's a traditional pulp hero that uses his wits and physical prowess, not because he needs what looks like a cross between Green Arrow and Batman's costumes to pump up his abilities.

This is said to be a concept. Who knows, if there's enough backlash about it, maybe they'll tweak it a little before actual filming begins.

That costume is much more ridiculous than a man walking around in purple tights. Wow....its just a complete epic fail.

Actually, The Phantom looks much better than anything else produced by the Sci FI, now Sy Fy channel. The new Phantom's costume borrows elements from Snake Eyes and Iron Man's costumes, to make the ghost that walks more of a high tech hero and that sounds good to me. The Phantom has to be better at least then the dullest adaption of Flash Gordon ever, and as long as there are enough superheroics, it is a telefilm, and hopefully a series I am definitely interested in.

The colors are not set in stone, it's more about the consistency of design that people actually think it's still the same old captain bad a**.

Oh, and I bet they leave out Devil out of the show too.

I WAS looking forward to this movie till I saw the costume. The Billy Zane costume was better than this crap. I want "The Phantom" not Smallville's version of the phantom. The only thing they got right is the beltbuckle.

I totally understand the need for updating the costume, but to actually make the costume look more ridiculous than the original is just a complete failure.

Eureka is one of the best shows on the channel....and Stargate:Universe looks promising....this 'Phantom' telefilm looks no better than one of their 'original movies'
