After hearing great things about Dini's run on "Detective Comics", I bought a bunch of back-issues to catch up and see what all the buzz was about. I'm glad I did, as they are a great read. And one of my favourites elements of these comics is Dini's take on The Riddler.

I'm really liking the direction the character is going right now. Reformed, and working as a sleazy private investigator. It has really sparked new life in the character, changing him from a second-rate villain to one of Batman's best supporting characters.

What does everyone else think of The Riddler's character in the comics right now? Do you think this should be a long-term change?

Keep the private investigator. If he wants to revert back to crimes he should use the job as a front.

It's an interesting twist and he deserves some attention, while he's changed things up a bit.

Dini said his arc was one big story, but all the issues are seperate stories.
Maybe Riddler is the key player in this big story.

Anyway I kinda miss the Riddler from Dark Knight, Dark City.

I personally think it's great he was slowly becoming a walking cliche. It was a nice way of switching up the status quo and keeping him from full on mediocrity. I doubt it's permanent but I will love for this to last a few years.

You know, I do like him, but I think it's total BS that Loeb used Hush to finally make Riddler dangerous again, but then no one else could think of any ideas for him so they said "oop, hit in the head! amnesia! good guy now!"

It's a common plot device, but it does have some space to play around with and allow for the characters to switch back as they feel the need. An easy fix if need be.

Keep him as a private investigator... Working for the villains.

who knows he could be faking it, not likely but there has to be a reason for this!

One of the joys of the jump OYL. If he's putting on a con, it's a great one.

That is by far one of my favorite Riddler stories.

I like this new "Detective" Riddler. Its fun to read. Im sure eventually, he'll revert back to the riddle crimes, but for now its nice to have a change.

im going to have to check that one out, i just started getting back to reading comics a few months ago, i must have missed that one...i hear some pretty good thngs about it tho

What does the Riddler do in Dark Knight, Dark City? I've been struggling to find a story where he's a respectable villain...
