The cloud interpretation while not my preference was really cool in a cosmic horror way and the silver surfer was the best part of the movie . They were actually saving the big reveal of galactus for the silver surfer movie unfortunately it never happened but at least he wasn’t completely a giant cloud.

I thought it was quite an entertaining film until it ended less than 90 minutes into the film. I still can't get over how short it was. They could have easily added 30 minutes more into the film. Silver Surfer looked amazing!

Also at that time, I was curious how a F4 sequel took only 2 years to come out yet with X-Men films, we had to wait 3 years for every new movie.

I also wanted a 3quel because I liked the cast. During that time, I wanted Namor for the 3quel, until I found out Fox didn't have the rights.

I really wanted to see a third fantastic four film and a silver surfer spin off film. They actually planned to reveal galactus in full in the silver surfer movie which would have been an incredible reveal but unfortunately it never happened because of the box office disappointment of rise of silver surfer. In my opinion the film should have had a more successful box office. The silver surfer was such an incredible and cool character and that solo film deserved to happen as well as the third film.

I respect your opinion but I would have really loved to have seen it especially since it would have been the first marvel film in that time to really go full on cosmic and it had a really good script writer . It would for me would have been amazing. The silver surfer is a more interesting character and has more potential then what Electra was in my opinion. His background and history is so cool and interesting. I think it would have worked. It would have had more of an adult tone and be set in space. It sounded great to me.

I get that we both can have different opinions on it so it’s fine but it certainly wouldn’t be any worse than the 2015 fantastic four film that they made . I couldn’t believe what I saw from that film. It was an in name only adaptation of the fantastic four .

Maybe not. But I don't think Fox was that interested in a Silver Surfer movie. They could have made a requel or an origin film featuring Silver Surfer inbetween 2008 to 2019, without tying the movie from the previous F4 films if they truly believed that a Silver Surfer movie has potential, but they instead chose to do a F4 reboot.

Unfortunately they weren’t focused on making a good film they made it to just keep the rights and spite marvel. I am glad it backfired on them and thankfully marvel got the rights back. Say what you will about the Tim Story films but at least for the most part story had a respect and passion to the comics.

I really loved Laurence Fishburne and Doug jones as the silver surfer and I loved how weta and ironhead studios brought him to life. The look and the voice was incredible and I really wanted to see more of him. Everyone did an incredible job bringing him to life.

Silver Surfer still looks good to this day! The Fantasticar also looked dope! I miss the mid 2000s. Also in 2007, I went out of the country for the first time and it was in China. May I think. This movie has scenes in Shanghai. So it was a nice coincidence. Survivor China also aired in that year.

Silver Surfer looked good visually, but that's all I got. This movie is otherwise terrible

 

[Primal Slayer]

Just rewatched it after rewatching the reboot....it makes this film feel so much better.

Is a good film? No. But still semi enjoyable on different fronts.

Silver Surfer is 10/10 as a character/looks. Still holds up almost 20 years later.

All of Sues wigs are still hard to look at. Some were bad but bearable. Others were downright cringe that it should be a sin that it even graced Albas head. Same with those contacts. Along with making her so pale while Reed gets to keep his nice tone.

This was the only semi decent one because they gave her a headline, a part, some minimal roots


The whole power switching was a fun plot, i laughed at Sue torching up and Johnnie thing-ing it up briefly.

Ben/Thing doesn't get any standout moments which is a shame.

They tried to play up the comedy far too much in the film.

Still wish they found a way to have all 4 play a role in Dooms defeat since Johnnie having all the powers just played a little to goofy for me.

Sues wedding look at the end....omg sooooo bad on how many levels.

And of course no need to even mention the biggest mistake of all....giant cloud Galacticus

Fantastic Four helmer Tim Story bears the brunt of her ire; according to Alba, his direction during an emotional scene almost made her quit acting. “[He told me] ‘It looks too real. It looks too painful. Can you be prettier when you cry? Cry pretty, Jessica.’ He was like, ‘Don’t do that thing with your face. Just make it flat. We can CGI the tears in.’

I believe it because they definitely tried to sex her up and make her look more like a barbie doll compared to the first one

I feel like if the movie was 20 to 30 minutes, it would have helped. I still remember going out of the theater being disappointed how short it was.
