Discuss Rise of the Silver Surfer and mainly how Laurence Fishburne took orders from a giant space cloud.
I really wanted to see a third fantastic four film and a silver surfer spin off film. They actually planned to reveal galactus in full in the silver surfer movie which would have been an incredible reveal but unfortunately it never happened because of the box office disappointment of rise of silver surfer. In my opinion the film should have had a more successful box office. The silver surfer was such an incredible and cool character and that solo film deserved to happen as well as the third film.I thought it was quite an entertaining film until it ended less than 90 minutes into the film. I still can't get over how short it was. They could have easily added 30 minutes more into the film. Silver Surfer looked amazing!
Also at that time, I was curious how a F4 sequel took only 2 years to come out yet with X-Men films, we had to wait 3 years for every new movie.
I also wanted a 3quel because I liked the cast. During that time, I wanted Namor for the 3quel, until I found out Fox didn't have the rights.
I respect your opinion but I would have really loved to have seen it especially since it would have been the first marvel film in that time to really go full on cosmic and it had a really good script writer . It would for me would have been amazing. The silver surfer is a more interesting character and has more potential then what Electra was in my opinion. His background and history is so cool and interesting. I think it would have worked. It would have had more of an adult tone and be set in space. It sounded great to me.A Silver Surfer spin off was a long shot even if Rise of the Silver Surfer was a success at the box office. It would have flopped like Elektra. First Class was good yet it underperformed. Fox didn't have a lot of characters they could give a spin off project to and make them a box office success. Also their critical reception when it comes to Marvel movies, wasn't always good. They only had two films that didn't have a rotten rating (X-Men and X2) in the 2000s.
At that time, like FF3 I would have been interested to see it. But the numbers wouldn't have been there anyway. I don't see Fox suddenly making a good movie when their FF movies were okay at best. It would have involved the same producers, maybe Tim Story again and Constantin films.I respect your opinion but I would have really loved to have seen it especially since it would have been the first marvel film in that time to really go full on cosmic and it had a really good script writer . I get that we both can have different opinions on it so it’s fine but it certainly wouldn’t be any worse than the 2015 fantastic four film that they made . I couldn’t believe what I saw from that film. It was an in name only adaptation of the fantastic four .At that time, like FF3 I would have been interested to see it. The movie would have to be very good to sell but aside from early MCU movies, Spider-Man, X-Men and the first FF film - the public wasn't going to be that interested in a Silver Surfer movie and could have been a colossal bomb if it moved forward, and would have put more sting into this 2007 movie.
Fantastic Four helmer Tim Story bears the brunt of her ire; according to Alba, his direction during an emotional scene almost made her quit acting. “[He told me] ‘It looks too real. It looks too painful. Can you be prettier when you cry? Cry pretty, Jessica.’ He was like, ‘Don’t do that thing with your face. Just make it flat. We can CGI the tears in.’Fun fact: Jessica Alba's experience filming this movie almost made her quit acting.
