The Road

Who the hell is behind the marketing for this?

Lackluster is an understatement.

well that wasn't as terrible as the first trailer, but still overall a pretty crap trailer.

The music in the new trailer is terrible. Completely unsuited to the story.
The film itself looks very good, but the marketing has been abysmal.

Well, apart from the music that trailer wasn't that bad. I still look forward to the movie and especially it's soundtrack.

I saw The Road last saturday, btw. It was a good film. 3 out of 5. It lacked something in my opinion. More runtime or something. Some action would not have hurted it either (Yeah, I know it wasn't going to be an action. And yes, I can watch films without action. Just saying this before accusations, you know ;) :S)

The music was poor, but the actual dialogue and footage used was great. At any rate, the marketing has indeed been piss-poor. The Weinsteins just don't know what they're doing with this movie.

Saw it awhile back. Its a good movie. But its the most depressing thing I've ever seen. If Viggo gets snubbed again at the oscars then they really don't have any clue what they're doing.

Still pissed History of Violence never won anything.

if that's so i would not go to the theater for this

these type of films are better suited for home imo

i want to have fun watching movies in theaters

Then trust me stay very, very from away then.
I left the theater feeling unstatisfied, and tired. Not because it was bad, but because the movie makes you feel like the characters. You leave knowing the same thing they do at the end. The hopelessness that lies ahead, the unanswered questions, the unknown.

The trailer is actually quite good; it's the book that is crap.

Friend of mine's just lent me the book along with with his shining endorsement;

gonna start it at the weekend.

This should be an Oscar heavyweight. Can't wait to see it.

So this film released yesterday (Nov. 25th), and it's not showing in any theaters near me.

What the hell?

hey you found the thread, i couldn't for some reason. I think its getting widely released on friday. i hope so at least

Viggo Mortensen looks absolutely insane in this film.

While I am a huge fan of the book, I want to see it mainly for what looks like the best performance of his career.

i really want to see this

Mortensen has proven to be one of the best actors in the business, and The Road is his masterpiece.
