Charlie? I'm sorry I don't understand. Can you provide context?
Yes.Are you guys talking about the guy who called into the show and apparently called Rush a 'brainwashed Nazi'?
People care since its seems to have become real. Before Steele and the various Republican politicians and pundits apologized for disagreeing with Rush I never would have believed he was the leader of the party. Now I can't deny the possibility whether it was true before Obama talked about it or it became a self fulfilling prophecy.I agree, but I still wonder why people care....

Then why did he have that much influence to make pundits, analysists and high ranking politicians whimpering like babies whenever he raised his voice at them? When the head of the RNC caves into a radio show host within 24 hours it really looks like he isn't a leader. Rush is definitely a leader, unofficially, with the power he wields. Head and shoulders above the politicians the Republicans voted for.
Limbaugh isn't the leader of the Republican Party. He IS a symbol and a leader of the Conservative movement. Along with Sean Hannity and other similar popular figures. It goes beyond simple Party.

The Republican Party, doesn't have a leader.....that is its problem.
A leader is someone that leads and people follow right behind him/her, and have a strong passion for what they are believe....
Republicans disagreeing and then apologizing are not followers of a leader.......they are apathetic idiots that have no idea what they truly believe in....or what they are fighting for. Some may not have liked what Newt did years ago in Congress.....BUT, HE was a leader of Republicans.....that is what a leader does.
But when you have these high profile Republicans, including the chairman of the RNC cowtailing to Rush Limbaugh, it's hard to argue who really runs the show.
As for Newt, don't get me started. He knows politics, that's for sure. He's got quite a ways to go on the ethics front.
"looking like you are running the show" and "being an actual leader" imo are 2 different things.
One is simply louder than the other, and I think you can figure out which one.
True but in politics, perception is often reality. Somebody has to step up.
Less than a week after calling conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh a mere "entertainer," the apology from Rep. Todd Tiahrt (R-Ks.) has arrived. Not only did Tiahrt deny any attempt to denigrate Limbaugh, Tiahrt's spokesman called Limbaugh a "great leader."
"The congressman believes Rush is a great leader of the conservative movement in America -- not a party leader responsible for election losses," the spokesman said, according to the Wichita Eagle. "Nothing the congressman said diminished the role Rush has played and continues to play in the conservative movement."
It still simply reflects on how weak and poorly run a party without a sense of direction that the Republicans are.
