The Dark Knight Rises The Score

I'm mostly talking about Batman and Inception. Just feels like one, heavy constant thing, musically. Prestige felt somewhat similar, but not quite as ponderous...wouldn't have really remembered it was a different composer unless pointed out, honestly.

Wouldn't have it any other way, honestly. I'm mostly excited about this score because it's just Zimmer by himself. I love everything he's done. Inception is one of my favorite soundtracks of all time. It has the ability to give me goosebumps, make me feel nervous at times, and also really damn emotional. I can't wait to hear what he does for The Dark Knight Rises.

Yeah. I hope Zimmer gives us something as complex and mesmerizing as the score for Inception was, but unique for this last Team Nolan Bat film.

Yeah. And with the chant stuff, I'm happy he's doing something new this time around as well.

A Dark Knight is a collage type track, but it's my favourite. To be precise, I'd say my favourite piece of Batman music from Zimmer is here, starting at 5.37 all the way to the end: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6FnGS5Ufc1A

I was just listening to this track on my way home from work earlier this evening. :word:

I hope he does a solid job when it comes to creating Catwomans theme. It needs to be eery, hypnotic, yet sexy and mysterious.

Me thinks the Zimmer Man is going to bring his A+ game this time around. He really didnt do much but maybe.. Two scores this year? I think his focus is really on making The Dark Knight Rises, the most EPIC score he's ever created.

Hans Zimmer it´s the soul of Batman´s movies.

Nolan should keep him around forever.

Hans it´s the best on his job.

i think the best part of the soundtrack will be from the last 15 minutes when Nolan will end Bruce's story.

a lot important songs from BB and TDK are also from James Newton Howard.

We'll see.

It is epic, and I dont see him going two movies then tripping on the finish line. It'll be great, as it is written, so shall it be.

I think Zimmer has written some amazing music. I especially find "Time" from Inception to be a very moving piece of music, and I always thought it sounded like "Journey to the line" from Thin Red Line which also contains some beautiful music.

Precisely. Newton Howard's work tends to be the more emotive stuff. If anything, his work is the SOUL of the Nolan films. Zimmer tended to do the more superficial - action/tension music.

I wonder why WB's didn't bring back JNH? He is either busy with another film or WB's might have been pissed at him for the very mediocre work he did for Green Lantern, like the rest of the crew did for that film.

I assume WB/Nolan will still be able to use and rework any work JNH (mainly Bruce's theme) within this film...

I still love how they echoed that theme from the Wayne Funeral scene with Brucie and Alfred in the manor to the post Rachel death scene with Bruce and Alfred in the penthouse.

JNH is one of my favourite composers ever...that being said, let's be honest, he was completely overshadowed by Hans in the past two Batman scores. They probably thought Hans could do it solo next time, esp after his success with Inception.

I agree. I liked how they did that as well in TDK in the penthouse scene after Rachels death.

According to Alan Meyerson:
What it sounds to me is like they have a suite of music, probably a handful of cues mixed into a larger one, that has a combined track total of 4,000 tracks. So it’s likely that 4,000 tracks aren’t playing back at once, but just that when you combine all of the tracks from the individual cues, which may be anywhere from 40-250 per cue, you have a total of the amount Alan said. So, for the sake of argument, there isn’t one track for the piano in the entire suite, but instead multiple tracks for piano, but each of the individual tracks for the piano correspond to only a single cue.

A fan made his own version of Bane's theme:

Sounds very close to Hans' version in the prologue.
