The Shield - 7th and Final Season

I just watched Oz for the first time a few months ago and I thought it was absolutely stellar all the way through as well but it's another case of a show with no clear cut protagonist

OZ was an absolutely incredible show as well. Although I think it went a little TOO long it was still television at its finest.

Oh yea man. I loved how you saw how most hbo and show time regular actors got their starts there. Lance Reddick, David Zayas, Chuck Zito and then Bodie from The Wire. Cool seeing all of them younger like that. Lance Reddick seemed like a completely different person

just bought the series full dvd set!!! just finished season 1 man i forgot how great this show was

Im on season 6 rn its basically the best cop drama after The Wire and Southland.

I'll go 'long with that... never thought I'd see THIS thread resurrected after so long...

This thread should always get resurrected from time to time. I've been debating a huge rewatch recently too but I think I needa watch something I actually haven't seen yet

The shield was amazing for cable TV and the character and story archs were consistent in building to a logical conclusion on its entire run. The only down side is Michael Chiklis has yet to match his performance on the show anywhere else.

I'd agree with that. He really gave it his all as Vic Mackey. But then again, it's also difficult to see him as anyone but Vic now. Maybe it's just me? I have the same problem with Kiefer Sutherland/Jack Bauer.

I really hope he does a great job on this upcoming season of american horor story because that show takes some risky ideas involving sex, violence etc that were in line with the shield.

Yeah with Kiefer he created such an iconic role that it has become the defining role of his career which by the way is not a bad thing its just what plays to his strengths.

Yeah im surprised it got away with a lot of the stuff it showed on that show for regular television.

there were a few episodes where I looked at my wife and said "this is on TV right?" I could tell a few times that the acotrs really wanted to drop an F bomb in there dialogue because some of the scenarios called
for it.

LOL... I still remember and to this day will never forget that episode where that guy stashed his fridge full of... *ahem*... his future babies and Dutch was wondering what it all was until he realized what he had his hands on... and then that guy was making an offer to Claudette... and his demand to her when she blew him off... "GIMME THAT... " ... well, you know the rest if you saw it... :lmao:

I'm on season 3 and holy crap Agent Coulson is the granny rapist

That throws me for a loop still when watching the series. There are some actors that appear elsewhere now but played real pieces of work on that show.

Cuddler Rapist, I think they called him. When Coulson's popularity began to grow, I kept telling people he'd always be the Cuddler Rapist to me.

I thought they called him the serial cuddler for some reason lol
