The Signal (2014)

Has anyone seen it yet? The Signal is perceived as an Americanized version of Akira (similar to Chronicle a couple years back). It stars Laurence Fishburne.

I just seen this movie recently and it didn't remind me of Akira at all. Although I can see why people would say that Chronicle is similar to Akira.

I saw it months ago and it's got elements of Chronicle mixed with the Matrix. I really loved it.

I also saw The Signal.
I didn't expected much so I was pleasantly surprised by what I saw, old concepts/ideas but well presented.
The effect in the last part of the movie were great.
AFAIC, it has no similarity with Akira and only reminds me of Chronicle for the teens and found-footage style.
Summary : a good little scifi movie.

By the way, the girl is a regular in Bates Motel.

Just found out it's on Netflix, I'd highly recommend it.

It was one of my favorites of 2014.
