The search doesn't like my face, so I don't know if there's already a Simpsons Movie thread, but if anyone got the X-Men 3 DVD there's an unfinished scene from it. I thought it was funny as hell.

It shows Homer in the middle of a forest in the snow on a dog sled. He is whipping the **** out of them. Then he stops and says "I'm tired of whipping you guys." it shows the dogs get a happy look then Homer says; "With this arm!!" then he whips the crap out of them with the other arm. Then it cuts to them resting and Homer is taking their straps off. "OK, I know we had a rough day, but let's put it behind us." then they attack him.

The Simpsons movie will end all wars forever.

It looks pretty good. Any word on the story itself?

that......was friggin' funny. I found myself laughing way hard as I pictured what the finished scene would look like...and why or how Homer got himself there. can't wait! Oh wait...I've been waiting for over a decade...nevermind...still waiting.:whatever:

The newer seasons of the show have disappointed me. I hope they use the silver screen budget to bring back the psuedo-gravitas of the early seasons.

Indeed.

The humour needs to be similar to what we got in seasons 1-7 .... base it some kind of reality and not so much random stuff.

Give it a solid story and flow .... can't wait.

I concur.

I think the Simpsons have become practically unwatchable in their last few seasons, but I'm still curious and hopeful about the movie.
It's so weird though to watch those preview scenes and see the Simpsons you know and loved in widescreen. :yay: -> :ninja:

I miss the days when Homer would misquote poetry.

"Water water everywhere, let's all have a drink!"

I've seen the two clips, and I'm getting a Season 8-10 vibe more than anything. Which isn't ideal, but I'll take it over the crap we're getting now.

The show has been on air for too long, it´s tiresome to see yet another plot where Homer screws up and Marge puts him in the dog house or Bart pulls a prank that puts him in big trouble, etc. Also the show has become more like a cartoon and less like a realistic comedy, which was the initial idea, and Homer has become more and more a freak, instead of an average Joe who happens to be pretty dumb. The good news is the script is being written by the old team: Schwartzwelder, Meyer, Vitti, Jean, Sellman, etc.

I agree.
I thought season 8 was probably the last watchable season. After that the show just became unbearably bad.

I still love the Simpsons, no matter what.

The movie looks good, but Im glad to see Im not the only one who feels the show should have been cancelled years ago. The cash cow's teet is red raw. It has been absoloutly horrible for years. The only reason Im going to see this is because it used to be a great show and the movie looks like it might capture some of the old glory.

I really dont see how this movie can be good. If they can't make 22 mins work, how the hell are they going to stretch it out to 2 hours?

Well, for one thing, they've got the whole group of writers that made the show great.

Yeah I agree. Every now and then you still do get classics, but they just try too hard now to get Homer to do something stupid in every scene that its just not funny anymore :( The legend has been spoilt.

Yeah, that unfinished scene was funny as hell.

The first eight or so Simpsons seasons were comedic gold.

And just classic episodes.

"Hey, Grimey!"
