You know, scenes that threaten to derail the film or take you out of it because they were so stupid or what have you.

For me:

Batman Begins - Bruce refuses to kill the farmer.
Dialogue so tepid and cliched that not even the likes of Liam Neeson or Christian Bale were able to save

Man of Steel - the tornado scene.
This scene was probably intended to be tragic, but it comes off as stupid, and makes both Pa Kent and Clark look like jerks.

The Dark Knight Rises - Where is the trigger?
Bale's voice. The dialogue. The Talia twist. The emasculation of Bane. Some unintentional funny moments...You get the picture. This scene is so annoying it virtually ruins the film for me in many respects (at the end of the day I still "love" TDKR).

Iron Man 3 - The Mandarin is an actor.
One of the most offensive scenes in a CBM. To this day I'm still shocked that Marvel agreed to this. Absolute WTF moment.

I could go on, LOL.

A few of Tobey's bits throughout the Spider-Man trilogy. Most of Justin Hammer's stuff in Iron-Man 2.

Tornado Scene from Man of Steel- even though I didn't mind it since I hated Pa Kent character, something I never thought I'd say. Horribly written, even more horribly filmed.

Crane Dad from Amazing Spider-man- pretentious, heavy handed, and lame.

The final twenty minutes from Dark Knight Rises - difficult to just single out one particular scene. Everything from Bruce's unexplained reentrance into Gotham through JGL as robin was awful

Bachelor Party from F4 2 - Mr. fantastic dancing to god awful CGI, Ben's boisterous ten second belch nearly taking a dude's for off. Ridiculously stupid.

I had repressed the memories from Mr. Fantastic's stretchy dance moves. Ugh.

TDK - the ferry scene
TDKR - Talia Al Ghul's death scene
Batman Begins - "It's what you do that defines you" *vomit*
V for Vendetta - the speech about the quran (Wachowski's trying to shoehorn their political agenda into it, the quran is a load of ****)

Also agree on the tornado scene in Man of Steel, that was pretty bad.

Fantastic Four - Doctor Doom turning into a metal lightning monster. In fact, just the movie Doom in general. Horrible adaptation of the character.

FF: Rise of the Silver Surfer - Galactus the Ravenous Space Cloud. :whatever: Really? That's acceptable yet a giant in space armor isnt?

Spider-Man 3 - Peter Parker dancing on the street. Great way to make him appear 'evil' Sam Raimi.

Superman Returns - Lex Luthor's plan revealed. Real estate?! Again?! Can't you think anything better than that Bryan Singer!

Man of Steel - Too numerous to mention. But that ones that make me :whatever: are Pa Kent standing still like an idiot while a hurricane gobbles him up, Clark and Lois' inappropriate kiss in the ruins of Metropolis, and Superman's ending brawl with Zod.

Daredevil - Matt and Elektra's playground duel. Wow. You can feel the romantic tension in the air. :whatever: I'm glad though that they became a couple this.

Ghost Rider - Nicholas Cage's hilarious attempts at acting out the scene where Johnny Blaze tries to come to terms with being the Rider.

Captain America (1991) - The whole movie.

I'm sure I can think of more. Will come back on that.

Green Lantern, every single scene, including when Hal Jordan's father dies at the beginning.

Thor 2, whenever Selvig is running around naked.

Iron Man 3, the parachute scene, cringeworthy.

Can't believe I forgot the playground scene from Daredevil lol

Credibility = 0. Seriously, describing the scene as "offensive"? :whatever:

Anyway, if I had to peg my own picks. . .

Fantastic Four: the "testing the Human Torch" scene. I can tolerate bad science, but bad science that obviously must be impossible for the scene to even happen? Goes beyond my limit.

Batman 1989 - Prince music scenes. Feel totally out of place and date the movie.

Batman Returns - Marching Penguin army. Too cartoony. Felt like something Schumacher would do.

The Dark Knight Rises - Blake recognizes Bruce is Batman because of a "look" on his face.

Spider-Man 3 - Dancing scenes.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 - Any scenes with Max Dillon, Paul Giamatti, and Dr. Kafka.

Iron Man 3 - Super Extremis Pepper

Spider-man 3: guess.
Fantastic four 2: the dance scene in the club
Iron man 2: the birthday party scene where iron man and war machine fight to queens 'another one bites the dust'. Might just be me but I cannot stand that part
Hulk 03: radioactive dog fight. Completely stupid
Man of steel: tornado scene, the kissing scene, the 'he's kind of hot' line. Inexcusablely bad
Green lantern: the entire film
Xmen origins wolverine: the fight with the blob, any scene with will.i.am, the final cg battle that looked horrendous. Oh and when he was first looking at his metal claws in the bathroom, they looked like Pixar had animated them
Watchmen: sex scene in the sky
Daredevil: playground scene
TDKR: Blake knowing batmans identity from 'a look in his eye' or whatever was real real dumb.
That's all I can think of off the top of my head.
And what exactly is this "parachute scene" in IM3? Surely that can't be referring to the Air Force one rescue scene, as that was not only awesome but also did not involve a single parachute.

You guys gave covered most of em but I'll add one or two

Avengers

Thor: (sternly) He's my Brother and he's of Asgard
Widow: he killed 80 people in two days
Thor: (flippantly) he's adopted.

It was just ridiculous, all stern and defensive one moment then completely the opposite just for a one-liner.

Thor The Dark World

Pretty much the whole final "battle" it would've been great if they fought more rather than just fell through portals and interupted it constantly with the science squad

Amazing Spider-Man 2

Dr Kafka and his stereotypical foreign mad scientist accent testing Electro scene

Every scene in Catwoman.

Tons of scenes in Batman And Robin, Superman Returns and Ghost Rider 2. Too many to name.

X-Men origins
Bathroom Scene
Barakapool
Wolverine Vs Helicopter
Gambit Vs Wolverine
Every Adamantium Bullet scene
Prof X Rescue chopper

X-Men
Toad takes out Storm, Cyclops and an Omega level telepath in 5 seconds
Storms classic line.
Wolverine swinging around the Statue Of Liberty

Daredevil
Playgorund fight

Spider-Man 3
Piano Bar
Kid cutaways during finale

Amazing Spider-Man
Cranes, cranes and more cranes

F42
Mr Fantastic Dance
Cloud Galactus

Hulk
Poodle

MOS
Pa Kent Vs Tornado

Watchmen

wtf guys, no one has mentioned the Coldplay/skateboarding/abilities test in The Amazing Spider-Man. That's the scene that sticks out to me as the worst

Mos:
"He's hot."
Faora's "good death line."
"Welcome to the planet."
Zod's death

BB

"Gotta get me one of those."
The cutaways to the water workers

IM2

The parrot subplot.

Hulk

Mutant poodles

Thor: TDW

Darcy/internship romance.

I like that scene. It's a sweet song and it makes sense that Peter would figure out his powers whilst doing an activity that requires spending a lot of time defying gravity.

Mos:
"Welcome to the planet."

I like that line.

Anyway, I pretty much hate any scene where a hero says 'if my enemies found out...'. It's been done so many times that it literally feels just copy pasted from film to film, and the dialogue is always so stilted. It rarely makes sense too because it usually occurs before they even have enemies. It's just lame.

Generally, I can forgive one or two lame scenes in a film. No movie is perfect.

Having said that ......

My worst scene of all time is the bit in Superman Returns where he lands on the Kryptonite island, and then looks surprised when he gets his ASS KICKED !

That Superman would be so colossally stupid as to land on a small continent which had significant deposits of the one substance in the universe that can kill him, and was created by the one person who's used
that substance against him, and stole the technology from Superman himself..... well that I can't accept.

Sure Superman rushes in blindly in the comics all the time, and he gets blind-sided all the time, but usually he doesn't do something this incredibly ****ing STUPID !

I was so angry at that point that if I wasn't on a date, I would have walked out !

MY second worst scene of all time......when Tony Stark, a genius, a man with a basement full of remote control Iron Man suits, gets taken out by some guys in helicopters ? WTF ? Compared to that, the Mandarin twist is nothing. Yes, he was having an off-day, but still, come on he's ****ing IRON MAN. And then his most advanced suit of armour.....DOESN'T WORK !!!!
And to make matters worse, it wasn't a surprise attack, because he invited the Ten Rings to attack him at home, on live TV and gave them his ****ing address.

That really pissed me off . There were a lot of other bits of IM3 that I thought were pretty crappy - particularly how inconsistent the durability of the Iron man suits was, but none of that compares to this. For me, it wrecked IM 3 , I could have lived with the whole Trevor Slattery thing, just because Sir Ben was so funny, but the helicopter bit was just too much.

If someone's going to take out Iron Man, at home, where all his gadgets and weapons are, they'd better rock up with the Shield helicarrier or the Death Star, or something comparable, that I could believe.

I mean, there are a lot of ways they could have done that scene, and it would of worked, but helicopters.....come on !

As for other films.....

I really didn't enjoy Darcy in either Thor film, but I'm not a Kat Dennings fan - she's just not much of an actress. But that doesn't ruin either film,
they're still fun to watch.

I loved MOS, but I agree with most that the Tornado scene needed some tweaking - it just didn't achieve what it should have.

Watchmen....yeah, the sex scene was a bit awkward, but necessary, given the source material. Kind of reminded me of the love scene in 300.

I actually liked "Evil funky Peter Parker" just because it was so ridiculous. I just had to laugh, it was one of the highlights of an otherwise forgettable Spider Man film.

great thread by the way !

Annoying bits from films I otherwise enjoy:

- "You're the one who's out Gobby.... Out of your mind!" - Spider-man

- The british reporter's running commentary at the end of Spider-man 3

- "Do you know what happens to a toad..." - X-Men

- Young Erik's "NIIIIIIEEEEEENNNNNN!" in First Class (plus some really awkward Jennifer Lawrence rants)

- Pretty much every Viper scene in The Wolverine.

- The Bat-Voice in TDK, Wayne getting a finger-print from a bullet, Gordon's pointless and impossible faked death, "5 dead, 2 of them cops" making no sense.

- "Wheres duh triggar" scene in TDKR. Silly voice only sets the stage for a thoroughly underwhelming bait-and-switch that renders Bane pointless and dissolves the tension.

- The crane scene in TASM.

- There's a few god-awful things in TASM2 as well that I probably shouldn't spoil.

Every hawkeye scene in Avengers.

Great thread by the way.

Superman The Movie - "Can you read my mind?"

Spidey 3's dancing parker,
GL's I know right scene,
All of batman and robin,
The hulk vs the dogs scene, especially hulk poodle

MOS: "You're a monster Zod, and I'm going to stop you."
TDKR: "No, I came back to stop you."
Superman 2: The cellophane S scene. :funny:
TDW: A lot of the third act.
