Sci-Fi The X-Files - 6 Part Event Series

I loved Post Modern Prometheus... it was a great episode that ended with Mulder and Scully dancing to Cher's version of Walkin' In Memphis...

Yup...I'm watching this.

I might have to binge the entire series and the movies before this returns.

I wonder how many episodes they'll dedicate to the UFO conspiracy arc. Hopefully at least three.

Groan...

Didn't you guy get enough of that with 9 seasons (and 1 movie) dominated by alien episodes?

That was one of the best odd episode. I remember it fondly after all these years. My second best was The Smoking Man episode ala Forest Gump.

I will certainly check this new installment out of curiosity, I stopped watching X-Files after the first movie ( which was after the end of S5 if I recall ).

What are you expecting then? It's the very backbone to the show, and to Mulder's character in general.

I'm watching this show for the first time ever now (on the 2nd half of S2) and loving it, so this is perfect timing for me. :D

As I said in the Cancellations thread, I can see this working like Sherlock where every few years or so they do a mini series run of episodes.

hey, does anybody remember that in-bred family living in a farmhouse or underground?... can't remember exactly where they lived... that was a truly weird and demented episode...

What is the first episode of the X-Files you guys saw? Mine was the first time they introduced Tooms. Been hooked since then.

I may have seen one episode before that one but Tooms is the one that got me hooked on the show.

What are some of your favourite eps?

The episode that got me to finally start watching the show was a SyFy rerun in 2009 of the season 5 episode where Mulder gets sent back in time to World War II on the cruise ship. I don't know what it was but it made put down everything and keep watching, when the episode ended I immediately got the first few seasons on DVD. I wish I got into it long ago!

The alien stuff is what got me hooked on the show in the first place, everything else was a awesome bonus.

Was it ever explained

why the alien invasion didn't happen in 2012 as the last episode established?

The Peacock family. Lived in a town called "Home" which was also the name of the episode...

That was a great episode. Triangle I believe is the name of it

It is believed that it will be explained during the 6 episodes

THAT'S the one... and wasn't that the same episode that had a Sheriff named Andy Taylor?... or am I thinking of something else?...

Oh, I didn't see the last X-Files movie so I assumed they explained during that film. Or at least touched upon it.

Nope. It was basically a 2 hour stand alone episode. A MOW type deal. No mytharc at all

Since this is most likely our last round of X-Files for the decade (unless of course the ratings turn out REALLY GOOD but I doubt it) Imma need them to make these 6 episodes worth it and not play around.

I'm sure they will. They are pumped and ready to go...

I believe Chris Carter hoped to have a film released in 2012 to coincide with the invasion, but alas it didn't happen. So maybe this series will explain why it didn't happen (or perhaps actually take place in 2012?).

It takes place in current day....

My favorite episodes didn't involve aliens;
Toomes.
Guy who control electricity.
Guy who could see how you are going to die.
Guy who photographs when you die.
Guy whose shadow killed.
And many others. I thought the alien episodes were a chore.
