yea as much as i want sm4 to happen right now it all up to when the next draft gets in and if its to the studio and raimi liking. Now if they could get it set to go and still make their march original start date good for them if not then i do say shoot it later this yr with a 2012 release date.

Looks like 2012 will be the new 2011... Spidey Reboot, X-Men spinoffs, Avengers, MAYBE BB3. The important thing is that Marvel bought themselves a critical year by getting unproven commodities like Thor and Cap in a summer by themselves, just as WB did for GL. But 2012 will be the real franchise movies. Someone has to go winter to free things up. You wonder if Sony is going to try and push Avengers out of the May 2012 slot as well. I can see Avengers moving to July if BB3 doesn't go through that month.

After Iron Man 2 blows the box office up in May Sony will not be any position at all to try to push Avengers around

It's not about that. It's about throwing Sony a bone. Avengers is not a summer opening movie. It's a summer climax. I have no doubt Marvel would prefer to move to mid July. Now for that to happen, WB needs to throw a bone, but that depends on Nolan.

Avengers is a summer build up. You don't open with the biggest CB film to date. Now if BB3 closes out that summer then Avengers has no choice but to stay put. Spiderman reboot in 3-D is a great summer opener.

No way man. The budget of Avengers is gonna be near 300 million. They are gonna want the early, juicy spot. And they'll get it.

Argument really doesn't make sense when TDK pulls in 500 plus in mid July. There is a reason why Thor was originally scheduled for mid summer 2010. When WB pulled their CB movies out of 2010, Thor was scheduled for mid July 2010 before getting pushed back to 2011. Now Cap is scheduled for mid July 2011. They want that carry over through the August month as TDK had.

Makes even less sense given how Avatar is traveling. Can't believe SM4 was given the arse, that came from nowhere. I guess that makes the 2011 schedule just a little bit less crowded now, thank christ.
